I used to watch my father play when I was younger. I remember the nights when I'd be propped up on his lap, as he and his buddies would be talking and laughing. He'd ride the wind riders and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. The views were so magnificent. He no longer plays, but I, myself, have been getting into WoW Classic (With some of his old buddies, actually) and it's just like I remember. It brings me so much nostalgia, and I wasn't even the one playing. WoW Classic is my comfort game. (I should say, growing up his gaming buddies were always around. We all started a Clan on Destiny 1 so I became close with a lot of them. They're great people, and it's not as weird as it might come across)

I like the old times. In the old times there were good humans and evil orc conquerors. Now it is all morally-grey and soulless. We don't need horde to be good guys. They never were and never will.

If you pay attention to the lore, the Alliance races tend to be pretty awful, too. The Defias Brotherhood hates Stormwind because although they crafted the city, they were not paid for their work by the crown! The dwarves and gnomes both just popped out of Uldaman and colonized Dun Morogh, kicking the frostmane trolls out of their homes, in the place they have lived for hundreds of years. On the opposite hand, Thrall is a peacemaker, and primarily wants to bring balance to Azeroth. All that being said, I main alliance. But I am not going to pretend the humans aren't perfect. When it comes to PLAYER BASE, now we can talk shop about Horde players.. assholes with no parental love in their childhood, desperately seeking to feel seen while they gank grays in Tenaris.

Even though this game got a LOT of hate from some of my friends for it being so addictive, I'm still so glad I got to enjoy it back in the day. The older I get the more I realise this kind of thing won't EVER happen again because the internet was still pretty much a child when this game released, the world was far less connected with no social media, and there's something magical about that whole era when you think about it. Classic won't be around forever, so I'm going to enjoy it again while I can!

Back when the game was good, and actually required some skill. Now it’s just “click this, stand there, everything is a 5-man, and the game auto plays.

So sad to see what Classic WoW is nowadays. Full of toxic anti-social 40 yr olds, RestedXP and Questie users, and gold buyers getting boosted.

It was like a literal drug, I almost failed my university exams playing WoW all days and nights long instead of studying. I was literally playing till morning, addiction was glaring. I dunno how I quit, but I did and since then I was aware to keep away from MMORPGs.

Great thing about Vanilla WoW was we were still in the wild wild west of online technology. Everything still felt new and people trying to figure things out and innovating. The online community on your server felt so personal. I knew most of the level 60's on my server and people actually had reputations good and bad. Was one of the best gaming experiences of my life. Vanilla Wow and BC will have a very special place in my heart.

Entered WoW EU the day after they opened the realms 2005, my online store followed the orders not to release the game until the opening day, (other stores cheated on this) so I had to wait an extra day to get my 4 CD box with the game. Played WoW into the middle of Mists of Pandaria 2013. But guild drama etc made me quit a few months later. Visited WoW again 2022 and lvl a few new chars in the BfA expansion in the free to play. And quit again. Now I have some nostalgic fun on a private server but it’s not the same as people to day are so stressful and the only thing that counts is the endgame and epic gear the journey isn’t seen as something fun anymore.
