Does this need varnish too?
@asencyel14 күн бұрын
Next time use thick plywood as the base of the matress inside and the other quarter plywood at the exterior facade for aesthetic purposes. matress needs a solid base as intended in design phase. just like a futon resting on the floor. thats why most of them do not work with slatted framesi ruins very early and gets out of warranty

We're so glad you liked the video. Unfortunately, we aren't set up to produce custom parts for people. Perhaps one day... In the meantime, we'd recommend finding a maker space near you that might be able to help you get the parts made.

Do you use acrylic?
@michaelsemenchuk3056Ай бұрын
I didn't see this question already asked, but may have simply overlooked it. If so, my apologies. Roughly how much in USD$ in aluminum hardware (edges, corner pieces specifically) did this cost? I breakdown would be cool.
@ournextmake22 күн бұрын
We spent approximately $260 on the aluminum parts (not including sales tax and shipping). If you want to get a sense of how much each part costs, do check out www.diyroadcasesstore.com/ The company is very transparent about their pricing and typically have some sort of discount depending on how much you order or if there's a sale going on. We hope this helps!

What paint do you use?
@bulletproofrecon10822 ай бұрын
Nice! Try using primer instead of acetone. That way darker colors or any color for that matter won’t require multiple coats.
@Berrr_Is_The_WordАй бұрын
I have been looking for a CLEAR primer for weeks (locally) with NO luck. I only ever see white, gray, black or colored primers. Any recommendations possibly???
@CarlosMerino-fr1xlАй бұрын
@@Berrr_Is_The_Wordwhy do you want clear? White should do the job. Primer > Sand > Paint

Great work! What size of rivets did you use?
@ournextmake2 ай бұрын
We're glad you like the build. We used 3/16" diameter by 13/16" length rivets for most of the build. We did use 15/16" long rivets in some locations where we had a thick stack of components to join. Here's a link to the 13/16" rivets (you can also find the longer ones on this site) www.diyroadcasesstore.com/6690-pop-rivet-3-8-1-2-wall/

How thin was the metal in your design? I'm asking cause I need some reference for a future project.
@ournextmake4 ай бұрын
We tried two different thicknesses of 304 Stainless Steel. 0.030in (.8mm) as well as 0.048in (1.2mm). The thinner one was, of course, easier to bend and contoured better to the mold. We hope this helps with your project!
