Come to think of it, I've noticed that too. I think the trick here is to press B when you swing, right before you hit the enemy mii's sword, that way it'll break their guard and cause damage. Occasionally, I have difficulty with block-cancelling myself, but it works pretty well when done correctly, which has been the case for me most the time.

As far as I'm concerned, I always thought Encyclopedia Dramatica was a nasty site, hence why I don't go there or think about it nowadays. Looking back at it now, I think I've fully understood that their intent is to satirize those who have done objectionable things, but I also agree that they probably weren't aware of the potential drawbacks of their venture until they came under fire. Moral to that story is that some people deserve to be satirized and others don't, it just depends on how good of a person you are.
