What happened to bishop Lamont
@ColianWire
@ColianWire 20 күн бұрын
Bishop Lamont, born Philip Brandon Martin on October 31, 1978, in Inglewood, California, is an American rapper known for his contributions to West Coast hip hop. He began rapping at age 13 and gained significant attention after being signed by Dr. Dre to Aftermath Entertainment in 2005. During his time with Aftermath, Bishop Lamont worked on various projects and was featured in several video game soundtracks, including “True Crime: Streets of LA” and “Madden 2007.” Despite recording over 700 songs, his debut album, “The Reformation,” faced repeated delays. In January 2010, he amicably parted ways with Aftermath/Interscope, citing the delays as unfair to his fans and himself. After leaving Aftermath, Bishop Lamont continued his music career independently. In 2016, he released “The Reformation G.D.N.I.A.F.T.” In April 2021, he announced a renewed collaboration with Dr. Dre, indicating ongoing activity in the music industry. As of December 2024, Bishop Lamont remains active in the music scene. His upcoming album, “Just Don’t Die,” is scheduled for release in 2025.

Holy shit, I just realize that during the aftermath dynasty that only three West Coast albums were released from 1999 through 2005. 2001, documentary, and the wash soundtrack. Yes, Kendrick is a West Coast artist but when he signed Kendrick, the dynasty was over, so kind of had all the glory to himself there which is cool, but through most of that dynasty most of the projects were by artist from Detroit or New York .

Malibu by Anderson Paak wasn’t released under Aftermath but came out when he signed with Dr Dre. Also another little fun fact despite having his other two albums that came after being released under Aftermath Anderson Paak’s albums were not released under Interscope, which you could say Anderson Paak becomes the first artist under Aftermath to not have his album be released by Interscope.
