I bought lots of the aqua and white baby yarn. My store only had 2 left of the variegated green baby yarn and I left those as didn't think it was enough to make anything. Last event I made a blanket from the variegated blue and used 6mm hook, probably 12 balls but it was a lot longer than it was wide. And i did only hdcs. Took a long time 😅
@loveandyarncreations23 сағат бұрын
Ah amazing, 6mm hook noted, thank you. The colours for the baby yarn were so nice this time round weren't they :)!

It's probably the fairs you're choosing. I watch a few craft market videos from the UK and there seems to be some good ones. It will also depend on your location. I hope 2025 will be better for you!

This yarn is gorgeous, but you’re right, it doesn’t go very far. I made a bucket hat with the green variegated from last time, and it took a whole skein. It looks fantastic though, and has a bit of a camo look about it. I used a 7mm hook but it worked fine❤

I've been a little bit disappointed by Aldi's yarn of late. I used to love when they did the 400g balls of aran and multipacks of dk, then they switched to 100g of aran and single skeins for more cost. I found the multicoloured yarn quite scratchy in the last drop and this time around the colours are nearly the same as the last time. Maybe it's a sign I should stop buying yarn 🙂
@loveandyarncreations13 күн бұрын
Last year was the first time I have brought yarn from Aldi, so not sure on previous drops. I completely agree about the colours, was definitely hoping for more spring colours to be released. 🫶🏻

@@ellenflanagan8582 the 400gram Aran was great value and good quality. The smaller balls don’t seem to be as soft and there ombré was quite rough feeling when crocheted up. They use to do lovely colours as well. They seem a bit dull now.

US Aldi has products we don’t get here in the U.K.
@alisonbamford672313 күн бұрын
It’s a good idea, however, the annoying thing is that because they don’t stock it permanently, you end up just buying it on spec, & then find down the line when you go to use it, there isn’t enough. We had a SHAWS drapery in our town, which I loved. Their Marriner yarn was very good & very reasonable, but they folded a year or so back. So disappointing. They had a pretty good constant selection & I could go in & buy just what I needed.
@loveandyarncreations13 күн бұрын

I'm new to your channel, so thank you, for the great tips. Having done many craft fairs in the past and visiting regularly so I've a couple of comments. 1, yes you are right to talk to the customers, but don't be scared to go to the front of the stall, as sometimes difficult to talk over the table & between displays. Plus others may want a look at your stall, and cannot get near, if there's someone in the way & you are in a deep conversation. 2, put up your Instagram & Facebook QR codes, as they may not want to buy on the day, but if they follow you, they know where and how to contact you in future. I know a toy animal knitter and she'll put up her latest creation in fun poses on IG, so when I see the stall it's a talking point. Good luck with the future fairs

I mostly made crochet plants in 2024, cacti, an orchid, lillies, poinsettia (Christmas present).
