Not sure if you are still responding to this post but curious the sun situation for these partial ocean view rooms. Last time i was here i stayed in a garden swim out and the sun went behind the building early afternoon and the swim out was got chilly. Hoping these partial views have access to the sunshine a bit longer into the day.

These room categories are both on the north & south side of the building. Sun placement depends which side you are on. North side gets more sun exposure.

All rooms are relatively close to the pools (it's not a large resort) but this particular suite was on the opposite side of resort.

They can be. The Preferred Club layout here is a bit wonky. I recommend getting in touch w/ a reputable Travel Advisor who knows the property well & can guide you into the right room category & onsite location.

In the swim out pool, is it blocked off or can guests staying in other rooms to your left/right have access to your swim out pool?

It depends on your room location. Yes, guests from other rooms also have access to the same swim out pools, however, if you are on an end (closest to beach) or very center, you may not have another room beside you (but that pool is still accessible by other swim out guests within your general vicinity). We met so many cool people in our swim out pool!

Preffered will give you almost nothing.The preffered restaurant on the beach sucks.The only differens is that preffered bar offers you bottled beer.Preffered club is upsale a gimmick.

I personally would do Preferred Club at this resort for the exclusive beach area alone. I recommend getting in touch with reputable Travel Advisor to ensure you are matched with the destination, resort & room category that is a perfect fit for you. I have no idea who you are, or your expectations, budget, etc. A good TA will qualify you well. For me... yest it is 100% worth it. Is it a crowded resort? Yes, it can be. Again, a reputable travel advisor can help identify opportune times to go when it may not be so bad. Hope this is of help.

Hi Stephanie, I stayed at this resort many years ago, and the beds were really hard. The pillow top they provided was useless. Was that your experience too? Other than that, it's a nice resort.

Hi there! No, that wasn't our experience. Both beds & even the seating sleeper were very comfortable but this can be subjective. Many European owned brands do have firmer beds because that is what Europeans typically prefer. U.S./Canadian owned brands tend to have softer beds as that is what we typically prefer.

No, I wasn't disappointed, but I knew what to expect going in. The balcony was spacious, you couldn't see neighbors on either side, people watching was great, and you could see everything going on at the resort from the beach all the way back to by the lobby/restaurants.

I know this video is a bit old, but if you travel here and a covid test is required the preferred club is most likely worth it. We stayed 5 days, 4 nights and the cost of preferred was a little over $100 total. With preferred, your covid test's are free, without preferred they are $30 so it was a better deal to pay the upgrade, get the free tests and enjoy the amenities. If you're considering the upgrade and covid testing is not required, then I would skip it. The prime real estate in the preferred beach side still cost money to reserve and the beach is the same. Also, nothing is stopping you from wandering over to the other side. The preferred restaurants are useless because the food is horrible. This resort is just about perfect. The beach, rooms, staff, pools, are all top notch however the food leaves a lot to to be desired. The only exception is the hibachi restaurant, however it is kind of a pain to ensure you have a reservation.

At time of booking, the simple answer is "no". You will have to determine which is more important to you ~ Preferred Status or Suite location. If Preferred Status, that will need to be booked & you'll have to inquire upon arrival if you can change room location while retaining status. If suite location is more important, that will need to be booked & you'll have to inquire upon arrival if you can upgrade to receive Preferred Status.

The quirky thing here is that the Preferred Rooms are across the street,, in the back of the property. I always thought the beachfront spa was wasted real-estate. That could have been a prime location for Preferred Club Suites.., but what do we know? ;)

I recommend having your travel advisor take care of this for you. If you booked it on your own, the unfortunate saying is "you have to go it alone"... A travel advisor is unable to assist as we do not have access to your booking. You will have to contact the resort or tour operator to see if there is availability & pay any pricing differential. Initially, I thought that too, but there was no on/off switch, just plugged directly into the outlet with no light feature (unless it was a dud). 🤷♀️
