I grew up riding, had several customs in the 90s, never wanted to get off them. I hadn’t rode in 9 years and jumped on my old custom from 98 a few years back, and it was still awesome. Hauled ass, didn’t fall once. No issues controlling it. My childhood buddy who I grew up riding it, and one of the only guys I rode with who could keep up, says he loves the Flying V, no going back. Not sure he ever had a regular custom, but he must’ve. Why would he say the X Flying V is better than the regular X? We’re in our 40s, and going to go ski Japan in February and it will be our first time riding again together in a quarter century. I surf a lot a lot and am in top shape. My thought is that the V is probably easier on the body?? Maybe slightly easier in POW? Is there any other advantage? I like going fast. For an older guy will it reduce some shock and zap me less overall throughout the day letting me ride longer? I’d love thoughts. Thanks guys.

man, that foam outsole must get torn to shreds.... when you say that it's "soft" how does that translate into lateral flex? most boots have a built in highback nowadays, and i can't stand that.

BEFORE YOU BUY THESE BOOTS; Major design flaw on the exposed toe cap stitching. They have know about this since 2019, but will not admit it. Warranty dept will try to blame it on the user. But it is an obvious bad design since it happens to both boots simultaneously starting on the sides not the top. I don’t even rest my snowboard on my boots so that’s a bs response from Burton. I’ve had two pairs of Thirty Two boots out last two pairs of ions and a pair of slxs. $600+ boots that will break inevitably in about two seasons.

The only problem that I have seen with this snowboard boot company is they do not have a wide boot for people with wider feet.

Funny you say they, they just came out with the TM-2 wide series

Hey there! I'm planning of buying this board and i'm more backcountry, all mountain oriented in riding, I'm 176cm and 75kg, with 10 US foot and i'm planning of buying the 154 board, but do u think that the 151 will be better option for me, since it won't fatigue my legs on steeps? Do u think also that the 51 will be snappier into the trees? I know that it can be size down because it's wider than the usual boards. So what do u think: which option will be the best 54 or 51 and why?

Size 9 feet but my Burton boots are a 10 US. 5'9", 205 pound rider doing a lot of rails. Is is a big deal to ride a super d.o.a wide with smaller feet instead of on a regular one? Considering a wide board for better weight support on landings too, thanks.

While travelling to Switzerland the airline managed to destroy my Burton Ripcord… thinking of what to buy next without being too adventurous… would the Flying V be a good upgrade but still playful enough (not too intimidating) or should I just buy another Ripcord?

Hello Just bought 2021 burton ripcord 162cm. 162cm only in wide? or regular 162cm too? If the board comes 162cm wide only I dont have to worry. Also, I comment on your other video "do you really need a wide board". My boots 13 and 6' hight 215lb. Thank you

Hi Matt, I just rode my 22/23 Stump Ape for the first time today and it is great in powder and grips ice well but I'm getting a ton of chatter on hard pack. It really killed my knees. I had planned on this being my daily driver but I'm not sure if it will work out. Do you think a damper binding would make it work? Right now I'm using an old pair of Cartels from 2013. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am eyeing this in any year. 28.5 cm is 11 inches which is the size of the ULTRA WIDE. I have size 14 boot and on my Skunk ape 161W i feel my toes and heel can still catch an edge. Even at the UW my boot technically would still catch. I worry i will still have this problem if i buy an UW one. I thought about going for DONEK which customize the board to your styling completely which I would ask to have a wide board. I Measured my hiking shoes at 13 inches (33cm) and my snow boots should be about the same. advanced rider. what do you think? or is the board elevated enough that I wouldnt notice? 6'3 195lbs size 14 boot
