Mathew: Don't know if you will remember me; I am Bill Lakes, the auto mechanic. We used to see each other at Muffin Mania in San Rafael, where I had the honor of sharing with you how I had one tape of Ancient future way back in maybe 1980 or so, and I was living in a horrible smelly cheap dive of a hotel in the tenderloin on Ellis and Leavenworth. Your tape got me through some really lonesome, depressed, and dark times. I finally got to thank you for that at Muffin Mania in 2020. Thanks once more, and forever

I definitely remember the story you told me at Muffin Mania. Thanks so much for sharing that with me! It's one of the standouts of stories about connections with Ancient Future's music that people have told me over the years.

We recently heard from a college student who's mother put headphones on her pregnant belly and played our music to her before she was born. Then when she was a teenager, her mother played all the music she had been exposed to before birth, and she became a major fan of Ancient Future!

Matthew Montfort here responding for Ancient Future. Thanks for the kind words! At the end of 2021, I moved Ancient Future's home base to Sonoma County. Ancient Future turned 43 in February. Here in 2021, September. Hi. I love this music. Another wondrous synchronicity to share .. AncientFuture.Today is a Personal & Collective Mastery project, we've been developing for the past 10 years. Launched officially 20-21 Match 2021, we welcome individuals keen to explore their own Mastery as a Divine Being in Human Form. Non-religious, no dogma, just Mastery Journeys, Adventures, Community. Lots of diversity and differences of opinion on wide-ranging topics that we consider as we work together to identify long-standing issues on the Planet (this Earth), and sustainable solutions that we are keen to bring forward in the decade ahead. The decade following, we will begin a renaissance of beauty as only humans can create - through art, architecture, crafts like woodworking, stained glass, and and and .. theatre, poetry, song, music, dance and and and gardens, textiles, weaving, and and and much more. This is a 30-50 year worldwide project bringing the best of 'ancient' 'future' together 'today'. Thank you for this music, for your band, for this moment to share something important to me and to others who are participating. We welcome you to explore ancient future.today on line. Blessings all.

Remembering how Jaco made such good use of _fretless_ ... would the heavy string of a bass lend themselves to the "scalloped" treatment?

Our society needs to begin utilizing WORLD FUSION MUSIC APPROACH, AS THE POWERFUL TRANSFORMATIVE TOOL FOR BRIDGING CULTURAL DIFFERENCES. Nothing can be more important in our today’s world than this critical effort of using our ANCESTRAL GIFT OF MUSIC to break the hold of implicit instinct of TRIBALISM that is based on the evolutionary relic of Fight-or-Flight instinct.
