Волшебный, потрясающий все глубины души, разума, эмоций Дмитрий Шишкин!!!!! Думаю, Петр Ильич был бы счастлив слышать такое исполнение своего детища, тем более, что этот удивительный музыкант играет его концерт в авторской редакции, и это дано немногим из исполнителей, ведь считал же Николай Рубинштейн, что этот концерт сыграть невозможно! Ан нет, играет Дмитрий и как играет! Браво тысячу раз!!!

I love this guy, and followed him by live stream throughout the entire Rubinstein Competition. He will (I hope) be another in the long line of great concert pianists who won second prize in a major competition, but went on to make a far better career than the 1st prize winner. His jazz improv encore after Pictures was the pianistic highlight of the entire competition. I'd have given him the first prize solely on the basis of that. Stupendous talent.

This is a very mature performance, with an overarching grip on the structure of the piece and a sense of where the sheer beauty of the music can be allowed to shine through. Top class! What a pity we don't get the rest of it!
