I see a lot of jewellery sold that is most likely under the 7.7g for sterling but has the 925 or sterling mark only. Do some jewellers mark their product with sterling without getting it assayed?

Hey, i have learned that you can call it gold vermeil when only the gold coating is done on sterling silver along with minimum 2.5 micron thickness. Is it possible to apply pvd on the gold plating of sterling silver and still call it gold vermeil? Also what will be difference in cost, shine, luster, durability, asthetic appearance, between pvd gold plated on stainless steel vs pvd gold plated in sterling silver? Need some education here.

Whilst we are able to provide ample support in development of new jewellery designs and outsourcing the production, our knowledge is limited in how to start a jewellery business from scratch and the logistics/admin associated with that. Once our customers are ready to go into production of sample development and order production, we will be able to support them accordingly. Thank you.

Most factors we (manufacturers) look out for when determining prices is the weight of the item and the other variables such as the complexity of the design, whether there is any plating or stone sourcing and setting. I recommend reseraching other designers that have similar designs to yours, work out what mark up you want to add and therefore your budget in having the jewellery outsourced. Hope that helps :-)

Sorry, I just found your videos and they are quite helpful. I'm a 3D modeler and wanted to take a shot at jewelry designing/3D modeling. I was wondering, that is if you don't have a video on it, on what tips you can give me to enter the jewelry arena. How do I approach a jewelry store to let them know I would like to design pieces for them? I'm studying up on the industry via KZbin so not to go in totally blind, but any advice you have or can direct me to a good article/video on getting into jewelry design via 3D modeling would be excellent.
