Don't forget that the current through the regulators is SHARED. For instance, if you use power from the 5V regulator and the 9V regulator, this "combined" current flows through the 12V regulator even if it is not used. It should also be kept in-mind that the transformer shown can only supply 1A total for all three loads.

after constantly seeing these I swear either my solder or my iron is shit. I can never so seamlessly do a joint like that even after tinning the tip and both leads..... I need a damned weller. and higher % flux solder I imagine... any advice?
@mosiala5066
@mosiala5066 6 күн бұрын
Your iron might not be hot enough. Insufficient heat prevents the solder from flowing smoothly. A worn-out or dirty tip hinders heat transfer and solder flow. Use a damp sponge or a specialized tip cleaner to remove oxidation and residue. Apply a thin, even coat of solder to the tip before each use. This improves heat transfer and prevents solder from sticking to the iron.🙂

The labels in the video flash by too fast. You connected the 78xx in series. Does it dissipate the heat better than connecting them parallel? 78xx all rated 35vdc max 7812 requires 14-35vdc input. 78xx rated at 1amp

The uneven distribution of voltage across the series-connected regulators and the overall instability of the circuit make this configuration highly unreliable. To achieve higher output voltages, it's recommended to use a higher voltage regulator, a step-up DC-DC converter, or parallel connection of identical regulators with proper balancing.🌹

Sir make 80 volt to volt 220 regultor
@mosiala5066
@mosiala5066 6 күн бұрын
Determine the required power output (watts) of the regulator. This will dictate the component choices and overall design. Will the input voltage always be 80V, or will it vary? If it varies, what is the acceptable input range? How precise does the 220V output need to be?

So, I have a project in mind for my boat where input will be 12V, and I only need the 9V output. Do I just need to use install the 7809, and forget about the 7812 and 7805?
@mosiala5066
@mosiala5066 6 күн бұрын
Yes, if you need to convert 12V to 9V, a 7809 voltage regulator is all you need. The 7809 is specifically designed to provide a stable 9V output, and your 12V input is well within its operating range. The 7809 can get hot, especially at higher currents. Make sure to use a heatsink to prevent overheating.

L78xx LDOs have application info in their datasheets. If i recall correctly they call for 4.7uF electrolytic caps on both input and output terminals.
