Wow! My aunt had a long commute to work in WWII, and crocheted all the way. The original looks like it was heavily starched for added floof.

I starched as well as I could, but I know I don't know the sort of secrets the ladies back then did. They could make anything stand up.

@@icrochetedthething Part of it was boiled starch, and using pins and props to hold the lace until dry. After stretching it to shape.

The pattern says "light and dark" and I went, "Nah, bright and bright." It's a great skirt, and the Cobasi is a beautiful yarn.

My aunt had that crocheted crinoline doll on her bed . Tacky is one of my favorite shades of nostalgia... also just my favorite 😉

@@rhondashearer3134 I've got one of those hanging compartments in the closet and a lot of little buckets like you'd use in a kid's room. The buckets can stack pretty okay in a pinch. I also really only buy yarn when I know what I'm doing with it, which can lead to a yarn backlog but not a big build up of stuff that never gets used.

Even in the winter time, if you're spending time outdoors and active, you STILL don't want to wear an acrylic top. You need stuff that will wick the sweat away from your body so that when you stop being active you don't get chilled.
