Wow sorry I caught this 11 years later . But ! Great ! I’ve thought the same thing after years wondering why the teachers didn’t explain this or that and I guess you’re the first one I’ve ever heard spit this out ! DAM ! Thank you ! Landscape artist painting on off for 24 years!

Dan is the best teacher around for any person who wants to learn to paint and be an artist. I studied with him for over 10 years and now my work is being shown and sold in a local gallery.....trust me he will make it fun and you will be surprised how good you will become by the time you complete his Still Life, Landscape, and portrait courses. My name is Tom Livhtenwalter and Dan taught me to paint!

Seriously, all 3 tips apply to my paintings. I've been kinda aware of them, but you laying it out clearly just drove the points home. I'm going to stick a note on the easel. Thanks for sharing.

Please how long are your 10 dvd? And do u actually paint 10 paintings, or on the computer screen you explain how you painted? Total Time please, I am considering buying them. Thank you very much. You remind me of leffel. Did you study his work or took his online classes?
@danieledmondson15034 жыл бұрын
The DVD's are about 17 hours total and are about one and a half hours to 2 hours each. In my starter courses for still life and landscape... there at 10 DVD's each course for 10 paintings that correspond to the DVD's. they are jammed packed full of information and these are good sellable paintings. I want you to be able to sell the paintings when you're done and pay for the course. If you have any other questions please just email us will be happy to answer them. visit danieledmondsonstudio.com for more info and yes you do have a good eye, I studied with David Leffel for about 10 years he is a great teacher and painter.

The hake brush is used in Japanese ink painting and is pronounced like hockey at least by most English speaking folks. it is used for large areas for washes and to loosen up the image.

Francesco Guardi (1712-1793, Venice) has numerous Caprices or Capriccios that are early examples of the loose brush.

Hi Daniel, you mentioned artist that paint loose. I recently discovered Laurent Dauptain, whose paintings (often portraits) are readily seen using Google images.

Very good volume on my computer and excellent painting you are working on. Joaquin Sorolla and Richard Schmidt are my heroes too, but Dan Edmondson is the best teacher of them all.

I am having the same problem with low volume - hard to hear you.
@Thmbly5 жыл бұрын
Dan is one of the best teachers out there. I've taken his DVD, online, and AMP classes and still quote some gem of knowledge I picked up from him multiple times per week. I can't wait for the 'paint looser' class. I already paint fairly loosely but even the few techniques he covered in this KZbin video will make that easier and more effective. Hey, Dan, if you're looking for a 'beta tester' of the material before you commit to a final version, I'm available. Just sayin'!

I've NEVER posted a negative comment on anyone's video ... until now. Your video has absolutely NOTHING to do with the title. During your KZbin video you instruct us to go to your website to get the 3 great tips (title), but your website is a sales site promoting your videos. After you've scrolled all the way through your website, at the very bottom, there's a spot to sign up for your weekly newsletter. This was a waste of my time. =(

I always have. I do portraits or did. Everything that is on canvas is a reproduction of some sort. I know in music you can do parodies and get away with it. IF you have a private person who wants something and you can deliver then do it. I have done many Thomas Kincaid for a exfriend. From now on, the only paintings I do are for myself. I have never made 1 cent from anything I have ever done, except 2 going for nothing. 1 was a person's dog and the other a set of puppies at a yard sell. I do scuplting as well. My art is always given as gifts. Anymore with the fibromyalgia, my stuff belongs to me as my art is far and in between. I am redoing my childhood home and it is like a blank canvas 7/26/19. My art is on my walls and ceiling just for me from now on unless someone wants to pay me top dollar for anything I do now.

Andy Johnson You better keep the garage, it's Colorado and keep the box shop to repair and stow your 4 wheeler or bikes and fun stuff. Can't have too much fun stuff. The addition would be the easiest to complete. Congrats on a cool place my friend.
@cjohnson86105 жыл бұрын
It seems like the unfinished addition is ready to go. Light is so important and there are windows facing north and east, which are the best sources for traditional lighting. East light last well into the end of the day, so for summer painting, the light should be good until 8:00PM. That is if you prefer indirect light and tend to like working later into the day. The south light might be great on a day that it is snowing, or you can filter it with drapery or translucent panels. Or if you want to work with direct light in the studio, that space already has many options for using natural light, if that is a priority. Also, the fact that it seems like it would be easy to put in the insulation (no previous drywall to rip out first). Leave the upper area open, then you can add skylights easily where you want them. And it will definitely make the space feel larger, if not completely "open". You can also use the open ceiling for storage and artificial lighting for lighting at night or when you need it. The space seems neutral and more open, letting you create the space as you need it. Plus the other buildings would function better for storage and as workshop space, leaving the "studio" space free to focus on painting. Your wife can have the cute "cottage" if she needs her own space. If being connected to the main house might be a distraction, don't put in a door to the house. I'm curious where you are located and how strict the local building codes are. Also, are the other artists in the area. I enjoy painting the figure from life, so I am always worried about access to models.
