Just to let you know: this weekend my cancer made me surrender my red tick coonhound to our local shelter. I know they’ll do everything they can for him, but he’s been my best friend for four years through all this. Can’t tell you how much I needed this.

I'm surprised, disappointed, that there was no mention of (Sister) Rosetta Tharpe, who brought the other stream, gospel, into what was to become rock & roll.

America would not be worth living in without black folks. If you think that's too "woke", you are a phoney jacka$$. Just admit you are a racist hypocrite, you love black music but you won't give them the credit.

Slavery was a vile, despicable, horrible part of American society, but it created the Blues and the Blues will live forever. ❤❤❤

What the record company and society let Elvis Presley do what he did to Big Mama Thornton, Led Zeppelin did what they did to Willy Dixon, and ZZ top did to John Lee Hooker . you might as well say the record companies and some white musical artists are no different than the sharecroppers, you might have written a song and even perform the song first, but once they get it and do it, you’re never gonna make the money that is owed to you. and don’t let me hear you say oh that was back then, no no no Ed Sheeran is right now today a great example the song he did there’s no way you can tell me that’s not Marvin Gaye song but like the share croppers do and say” you almost broke even but not quite enough” it’s improving a little Luke Combs did something that I never thought I would see to have that country singer redo Tracy Chapman song and bring her up on stage a black gay woman standing right beside him, that was Big so maybe it is hope and maybe I can forgive Elvis, Led Zeppelin, and ZZ Top maybe just maybe but don’t hold your breath 1:32:37
