Aren’t the spokes shorter with that new wheel hub? Did you have to adjust the length to suit?
@robmakes88243 ай бұрын
The spokes are the original spokes from the bike wheel. I did not need to shorten them. As long as the spacing on the hub / motor is measured correctly they fit just fine 👍
@whosyadaddy-vids3 ай бұрын
@@robmakes8824 sorry mate am I being thick?! The centre part of the wheel that the spokes connect on to has a bigger diameter when the motor case is in position which is pushing my spokes further out?! Is it the pattern of the spokes that caters for the extra length?! Sorry mate this bit has me stumped

How can I open the hoverboard motor? After I unscrewed the 6 screws it is still stuck. It seems there is something else to release
@robmakes88244 ай бұрын
There are many strong magnets holding the motor center in place. Some force is required to separate the center from the motor. Care must be taken not to damage the motor 👍

Anybody considering copying this - don't use laptop cells, they are rated for 2C or typically 3 to 4 amps draw but the motor may take 15 to 20amps. Rescued lithium cells from 18 or 20volt power tools would be a good choice but you still need to match capacity with the rest of the hoverboard battery which will typically use 2ah or 2.2ah cells.

laptop batteries are Not high drain and will fail on a high current draw situation, better to find a battery (s) from a power tool as they Are meant for high drain applications, example is a laptop or say or other low draw applications average around a 5 Amp high drain whereas power tools are more in the range of 25 - 35 Amp high drain, the lower ones will burn out the safety fuse in the battery. Also why not use the hoover board's built in BMS and controller board? it has most if not all you need to make one even cheaper, convert the position sensors to switches, etc ?

If you put more in series you get a greater amperage output so 10s5p should be good. Am i right?

Hi! Thank you for the video. We want to build an e-bike on to fatbike chassis. We want to use 48v 500w controllers on 36v 300w hoverboard motors. In our city there are lot's of steep roads with %15-17 slope. We need to climb them with minimal affort. I am 105kg by the way? What do you think is it possible? Lastly we want to protect the old gears (the bike is 21 speed). Do you think that is possible? Or useful when pedalling?

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
