I think in hindsight Cold Chisel and their manager Rod Willis would agree with Molly regarding the most outstanding achievement award. Chisel, having originated in Adelaide alongside Stars were fervent supporters of the band, with Don Jim and Ian all featuring in the 1980 Andrew Durant memorial concert, celebrating the talented Stars young singer/songwriter/guitarist’s cancer related death. Cold Chisel’s TV Week Rock Awards outburst was a direct shot at the publisher and their belief that they had some sort of control over the band’s future and certainly not a play for the award.
