That's the vibe I got. When Kathryn met Daphne she did all her love to her, but she was always there for Bay too. You could there was unconditional love between her and Bay regardless. Regina and Bay. Sure they had some mother daughter moments, but whenever Daphne got jealous or needed help she was there in a flash. Plus Regina always confided in Daphne and not Bay. No wonder Bay felt left out.

Yeah I totally agree. I know Regina tried, she wanted to do the right thing with hiding the switch etc. and that she felt guilty but she really did a crappy job as a mother of Bay. Also, a thing that really bothered me - there's a lot of things but this one in particular, I don't know if anyone noticed cause it was the Christmas episode and it was all christmassy and sweet but - in the alternative version of life where switch didn't happened Regina was still drinking. She, in fact stopped after she found out about the switch. So what does that mean? That Daphne was biologically not hers so she was like double afraid she'd lost her if continue drinking? And that Bay was her own flesh and blood so she wasn't worthy of Regina's effort to go sober? And about hiding the switch, while I understand that she had reasons to be afraid of losing both daughters right after she found out, I don't understand why she never tried later? 3 years later 5 years later? She was sober then for solid amount of time and I don't think that judge would be so quick to give full custdy to the Kennishes like it was in 'Ecce Mono'. Yeah, Bay had it the hardest. Ohh, I could go on for days!

I could tell from the start Kathryn wanted to bond with Daphne but was also being a good mom to Bay. But Regina only paid attention to Daphne. Whenever Bay tried to hang out with Regina she would either run off or Daphne would get jealous and Regina would run back to her.

It’s really sad that is has to be a comment. “What episode does Regina and Bay hug?” Because that’s how rarely they ever hugged each other. The first time they are ever shown hugging is in 2x11 and it’s an awkward one. The rest of the family all hugged each other all the time (ex: Kathryn and Daphne, John and Daphne, Daphne and Regina and freaking even Kathryn and Regina and Regina and Toby!) but never Regina and Bay. And the sad thing is you really think after ep 2x11 that they’d have a real relationship and that they might even hug once and awhile but they really never do. And you know what’s sadder? Bay was always the one tossed to the side. Everyone including John and Kathryn were so focused on making sure Daphne’s every needs were taken care of that they never paid attention to Bay and what she needed. Bay deserved better and my heart broke for her during the whole series.
