In case anyone was wondering the 3x limit increase also works for the Charge cards pay over time limit. I never use pay over time as I pay my balance in full every month but thought I’d try. Requested a limit increase from $2,000 -> $7,000 and got countered with $6,000. Ive had the Gold card 5 months.

NOPE!! I applied 3 weeks ago, and they not only turned me down (as I’m close to a 700), but after they did and I refuted using consumer codes, they sent a letter saying someone may have falsely applied for it in my name - YES!! They did. They falsely denied me when they Lawfully MUST give me my securities!😂 Code? 15 USC 1691a - Denial of credit is an adverse action!!

I was able to upgrade from the platinum to the quicksilver in less than 6 months of starting the card. But before that I got a credit limit increase. However, I paid the card off in full each month and paid off other debt during that time. I feel like it depends on the person situation on if you get an increase.

I have been banking with Chase for at least 16 years and they have been stingy with credit limits. My credit score is 800 but I am not a six figure earner however I do have additional assets and I don’t think Chase bank really gives a damn about that… But one good thing is that last year Chase Bank started offering a soft pole when requesting a credit limit increase rather than a hard pull from Experian❤️

Use a prepaid card or cash app card for gas stations , restaurants and department stores. They can’t take no more than you put on the card. Plus prepaid does not have your personal information.

Both a contact and a contactless transaction create the same one time code. However it is correct that using NFC transactions reduces your risk of encountering skimmers. However this approach will not help if you are asked to use Contactless PIN which is prevalent in many countries outside of US.

High credit limits should not be what you chase in a card. You should consider benefits and what you get out of it, especially if you have an established credit.

All I did was open a flagship account then put $1500 so that I wouldn’t have to pay the service charge. After that I did a $100 bi-weekly direct deposit and left it alone for 3 months. After the third month I applied for the flagship credit card and got approved for $20k. Following that process I should be at $80k in 6 more months if I get above for a $40k limit on one of my next 2 cards with them.

Capital One is ok if you're in the process of rebuilding credit. However, once you're well along the path of rebuilding credit, DITCH Capital One, unless you like being disrespected and having your credit line reduced or frozen in place. Once you have credit cards with the other big players, say goodbye to Capital One and don't waste your time on them.
