@@PedalJunkie Yeah, it's the only piece of gear I still have from back then pretty much. Had tendon problems with my wrists that forced me to give up guitar for a long time, picked it back up in 2017 and... well, my pedalboard now is more... MORE. - Friedman Motor City Drive is my go-to these days, sometimes with a tubescreamer in front of it. Sometimes the Revv G3 gets rolled out, but sometimes only the Shredmaster will hit the spot. the key when you've got a few drive pedals that could sound the same is to set them up really differently on the board. :)

Thank you very much! Personally I think they are still worth it, because of the build quality and the versatility. There are 6 different delay types and all of them sound great, even today. If you're not interested in that filter delay, then I would say just get, for example, a Boss DD7 / DD8 But if (and that's why I got it) you want that filter delay sound like the sweep echo...this is a great alternative to a Line6 DL 4 or Line6 Echopark. They can get quite expensive.

Salutation. Both ok pedals. The eye master has that couldron of iron pot sound around it. The Boss is a pedal for players looking to create a sound. And i would use This Heavy Earth pedals Crustifixion no holds barred. It knocks these out no problem. However the eye master has that burning black couldron sound and is a tailored kind of it's own sound, not meant to be expansive outside of what it does perfectly.

I’m sick of hearing that there’s a bunch of amps that cannot be heard over a drummer. If you cannot be heard over a drummer then your drummer is not doing a proper job of playing in the context of dynamic passages within a band format either tell him he’s really screwing up or get rid of him, that orange amplifier is certainly loud enough to play in a gig situation. It’s the drummer it’s not the amp. I’ve been doing this 35 years. I know live music.

Sure Buddy and if you're getting a sunburn it's because the sun is too bright and not because you should've used sunscreen. That might be the case for music like jazz or country and stuff like that but not rock and metal. You don't tell the drummer of a heavy metal band to play quiet so you can hear your 35-watt transistor combo. You show up with proper equipment, OR you mic it up that's a whole nother story. I was talking about just the amp by itself.

Thanks Daniel. Finally got time to get to the Zoom today. And youre right, it is a really nice Chorus ...just Pure on its own, once you strip back all the factory preset add ons. I will make another patch for Pure Delay only too, so that i can use the pedal in my chain and select patches as though they were individual pedals. I may mix a 3rd patch with a Delay/Chorus mix too, and also a clean patch next to them so i can shut it off easy. The Reverb on my Princeton Reverb is already awesome on its own. Just 2 more Questions... ● if i want to add an EQ to the Chorus i Stored, do i just dial up EQ on the 1st dial, and then do dials 2, 3, & 4 become a 3-Band Bass, Mid, Treb? I already have a GE7, but if i wanted to take this pedal to a Jam on its own, it be good to know i can add EQ on tap. ● 2nd Question is; When i was setting Rate and Mix (dials 3 & 4) in the Chorus, When i was at 1.0 (100) and wanted to turn it down, it would go 98, 96, 94, then as i kept turning it "down", it jumped back up to 96, then 1.0 again. I did this for awhile, and it did the same in the 80 and 70 and 60 numbers too, but after awhile eventually got it back down. Is this a Glitch youve seen before? Or is it maybe just getting old and breaking down? ...i bought it in 2008, so its 16yrs old, but only played it maybe 10hrs total over 1st couple years. Then its lived in its box ever since.
@PedalJunkie
@PedalJunkie Ай бұрын
Hey man, I'm glad I could help. This is indeed a very cool fx pedal and very usable. About the questions 1. Yes, the EQ can be operated separately from anything else. 2. I have the same issues with mine. Take a closer look on this video at 06:28 it jumps back and forth. So what I'm doing is I press the buttons down a little bit while I'm turning them. It helps with my pedal, so maybe try that. 😉

@gypsysteve3576 Ай бұрын
@@PedalJunkie thanks man 👍, good to know the glitch is not just my unit. I really like this chorus, dont think i 'need' a CE-2 if im happy with this. And thanks for the EQ info too, i felt the Chorus in its pure setting needed just a touch of Bass added, as i mostly play alone and not in a mix. Wish someone hadve explained how simple this was in 2008, after trying to read the manual, and a few attempts hands on, i gave up trying to make my own patches... i was only tweaking the preset patches. Rather than knowing i could strip it right back to individual effects. Looking at the pedal now after watching your vids, it seems nearly as simple as any single stomp box. Only the 1st Dial is the complex one. Also, i always had to click both click butyons at same time to get to Bypass, but when i switch them back on , if i dont time both buttons exactly right, it will jump up or down a patch. Is there a way to select bypass, and then switch it back on again with a SINGLE Button? Also youre playing is really good man. I dont play so much hardcore or thrash anymore. About as heavy as i get nowdays is Judas Priest (70s to 84 era), Warlock / Doro Pesch, Accept (Balls era)... but ALOT of mellow playing these days, like Pink Floyd, and Blues.

I’ve noticed with the level on a Boss SD-1 at 12:00, the gain all the way down, and the level to taste, you can get some really cool high gain tones without having to add excess gain in front of your amp. I’ve been doing it with my Randall RG3003 because of how huge it sounds and with the tone pot dialed back, the treble all the way up, the mids set to taste, & the presence dialed in to tame any problematic high end frequencies, it takes it to territory that not even a Tube Screamer could dream of accomplishing. I use a combination of EQ, overdrive, & distortion in a single pedal rig for the stuff I play, but the SD-1 could possibly be one of the filthiest overdrives I’ve ever heard for anything high gain.

I believe my version can also be used as an audio interface, has improved screen interface design, minus the expression pedal of course.. Anyways, try this thing direct to your audio interface with both the stock cabs and some third-party IR's to see what kind of usable tones this thing has in store! And maybe disable the cabs and run it into a power-amp & cabinet if you have the necessary equipment to try that also! Any number of old models from TASCAM can be had for cheap from Shop Goodwill, just place the microphone 2 to 3 feet away from the speakers directly in front, and make sure you are not sitting too close or it will pick up the much-dreaded acoustic picking noise from the strings! Hey, great video. Thanks for the tips very informative. I just got a Marshall MG HDFX 100 amp and a Marshall 4x12 cabinet. The cabinet has one port on the back, and the silver tag reads model MG 412B, lead 4x12, 120w RMS , 8 Ohms. The amp has 2 red inputs that say minimum total imp. 4 Ohms but doesn't say what Ohm either input is? The back of amp also reads, output 100 watts RMS into 4 Ohms. I got them together, and I'm new to amp heads and cabinets, so I was hoping you could tell me how to connect them properly...it also came with the foot switch, which I see an input for on the back. Please help me connect them
@PedalJunkie
@PedalJunkie Ай бұрын
Hey, thank you for watching! About your question: Ideally, you should connect 8 ohms to 8 ohms, 4 ohms to 4 ohms etc. You shouldn't connect an 8 ohms speaker out to a 4 ohms cab But you can connect the 4 ohms speaker out to the 8 ohms cab the mg is a transistor amp, so it's fine. So short answer is : you can connect the red speaker out to the cabinet BUT (AND THIS IS IMPORTANT) DO NOT use an instrument cable, it has to be a speaker cable. The instrument cable can get hot and will be damaged. The footswitch has to be plugged into the input saying "footswitch" so you can't do anything wrong here. I hope that helped, it's a little difficult to write it down here.
