I'm a huge Psycho, and I didn't know the musical existed until recently. I already knew they could all sing. I started with Mary then Liam. Jimmi Simpson is great in every scene I've seen him in. His performance in the Musical just floored me. If nothing else, the fact that he's full blown racketballing.

My Favorite is Johnathan Jacob Jingly schmidt. They used to share the name but Shawn changed his due to all the people shouting, when he went out. Black and Tan is my second.

Well in the podcast with Maggie and Timothy, James said he talked heavily with Steve Franks when they first met after his agent found the psych gig for him, so Steve believed heavily in James so he was basically chosen from the start

So true! Yet amazingly, USA Network offered the role of Shawn to Matthew Perry, who had recently finished "Friends" and was a hot property at the time. Steve Franks wanted James from the start, but the network hoped to land a big name actor to get attention for the series and the network. Let's all be glad that Perry-as-Shawn never happened and that Steve Franks stuck to his choice! Source for the Perry story: James himself.
