Really liked the format of this video. A part 2 for Network+ would be great.

I understand why the answer to question 7 is to quarantine the machine on it's own network but I disagree with that. If a machine is actively encrypting files, turning it off will make sure that stops happening. You can always pull the SSD from the system later to run it in a sandbox. The ransom note will remain one of the few unencrypted files so you don't even need the full-screen message. If you leave the computer turned on and quarantined, you risk losing local files that haven't yet been encrypted. You also mitigate the risk of further infection from a hijacked bluetooth radio or similar wireless commination.

I would have chosen B because in the question says unauthorized access, so I think authentication which points towards B. Then I rule out C because I see encryption and think confidentiality... after the data has been accessed kind of. How can I.. not get that one wrong I guess lol

Question 17 should be A? If we restore how do we know we aren’t restoring a backup that is still compromised. I would have agreeed if it said restoring to factory defaults.

Great video, I've always found the security plus to be exceptionally vague and very abstract, it's like firewall, DMZ, NAT, and subnetting and segmentation all generally mean the same thing but specifically are operating at different layers. And the implementation is different, this is just an example of the types of ambiguity you will find with these tests. They are almost testing for buzz words or word associations then they are actually testing for deep knowledge

I understand you are just trying to disclaim liability to protect yourself but I would assert that by virtue of the number of comptia cert you have (only need 1) you are affiliated with CompTIA. It is an affiliation specifically a vendor neutral trade organization. By virtue of obtaining the cert, you are a member. COMPTIA recognizes us as trade organization members. I would contend you meant to say you are not employed or sponsored or otherwise not being compensated by CompTIA. Admittedly is a minor distinction but this is how we learn from eachother.

Where do you get these questions from?

I took a practice test from another guy on youtube and got 45/50, took this and got 14/20... much better questions I think. Remembering all of the acronyms is gonna be hard.

In the last question you state that its obviously an SQL injection, not so obvious bcuz it can also be an XSS right? I mean if a web application doesnt sanitize the inputs what stops the atacker from inserting a script? Why does it specifically have to be an SQL injection?

the questions on the exam are a lot harder. While most practice exams give you a obvious answer by doing process of elimination the exam tries to trick you by giving answers that are very similar. Sometimes they are all acronyms and sometimes they are rephrased differently. At the end of the day, memorizing all the acronyms and understanding the concept will help so much more in the long run.

Q2 driving me nuts. The order of operations is different for me. At my job I'm well trusted. I'd always have a conversation with the worker right away and then follow up with alerting I.T. as I can catch a problem early.

Just started watching the Video and already having problems. Q3 never says that the email came from within the company. How can I isolate the machine if I haven't even confirmed a machine is infected. I assumed the email came from the outside .

Passed my Net+ yesterday, having that and Sec+ done is such a nice feeling!

Thanks so much for this. I haven't taken the exam yet but these videos really eased my worries about it. The post-assessment I took in my college course that was meant to prepare me for this exam had questions that were multiple paragraphs long and I was like "how the hell do I even read that fast and analyze it to give a solid answer and not waste any of my valuable 90 minutes???" But most of these seem much, much more manageable.
