I don't know if this will work since this is an old comment section, but I'm trying to apply this to a Ready Player Me avatar, but the Custom Standing Anims and the Custom Sitting Anims are not where it says they are in the video. Should I just replace my standing and sitting animations instead??

This video was made with Avatar 2.0, you can find Avatar 3.0 setups on the Discord Server in the general-content#downloads pins with their own video or description on how to use them

Still works in 2022 as well once you set up some extra stuff so it works with SDK 3

@@t3rrablox582 This video is for SDK2 avatars and I don't think it should be used anymore. To use this system on SDK3 I followed a video called "VRChat SDK3 Tutorial - GPU Particles with Action Menu". There has been other videos made since that one that could be better to follow, but I haven't tried. You can find them if you look around on the discord linked in this video.

scammed? Not quite possible when his knowledge and his creations are generally free. Maybe you messed up somewhere or he forgot something. Human error is quite a thing. The particles are the small cause that's how he generally made them, however i'm sure there's ways to make them bigger. He's an amazing guy, just try contacting him if you need help. We do have an amazing Discord server we run, with many people ready to help and easier access to asking questions.

@@ani-ib6yt The particles are so small for performance, the two biggest hits in performance are their size and the amount. so with several hundret thousands of particles they need to be small or it would just lagg way too much. And I'm sorry to hear the tutorial didn't help you out but as Turtwignerd already said we have a Discord server where you can ask for help or contact me directly and i might be able to help if i have the time. Also i really don't know how this could break your avatar, i never heard of that issue before, all the components added can easily be removed or undone at any time, same goes with the animations and anything regarding their setup. I did expect the viewers to have some previous knowledge about making avatars for vrchat so i might have left something out regarding that.

A lot of times they have to leave the world and come back to be able to see it. Its an issue most gpu particles have.

Just a heads up, i believe that V3 at the least is broken now. I have it working perfectly however i cannot get people to see it at all, even friends if they join my world. This may have something to do with the change to the new unity, or SDK update.

I to been having the problem. Its been random among those that see or do not see the setup and i been testing with everyone looking at me at loadin and before gestures to try local sync which is inconsistant

You might be able to work around it by adding a transform to the animation you usually use to collect the particles in your hands (transform to scale it to .00001 xyz). But these particles cause pretty intense framerate drops. Alone in front of a mirror it can go from a steady 90 to interpolated 45 or even less (in VR). If I could make a recommendation, just open Blender and make a mesh with tons of separated faces and shape keys to explode, contract, or take new shapes. You can apply an armature, use dynamic bones on it (so you can touch it as well), use the default additive particle shader to make each triangle look like a particle or a few particles, and even people with particles off will see it because it's a mesh. Basically just take a cube, W to subdivide two or three times, then P to separate the faces, then Alt+S to scale while maintaining face size. Then make more adjustments like this to each shape key, and add the keys to your animations. With just 6 dynamic bones and some animations that change shapes and tints, it can look much better and have much better performance than GPU particles. With low elasticity on the dynamic bones it will appear separated from your own armature, and once you map particle-like textures to the faces with a black background it will make the split mesh appear like a really amazing wobbly shifting mass of particles (but of course it's a tiny mesh with a much smaller file size and basically non-performance losses). And you can even use shapes of all designs and colors (from the texture) this way, in place of orbs.

i had the same problem with particle chan in vrcmods but in one of the shader files in coding i rewrote some "Private" into "Public" and now only friends can see it so thats a little work around that i found out

He goes slowly and carefully so you'll be able to follow along, instead of those super speedy tutorials where you have to pause almost every second, also most of the video is to teach desktop users on how to and how to change colors and amount and etc, i really appreciate QuantumHero for that

um i i just want to know. i heard i need to use vrchat sdk thing to activate&deactivate particels InGame (vrchat) but i cant find out how. i saw that you clicked something on 1:18 and the particels appired. just explain to me how u did that? cant find it anywhere

@@Zelliell after an hour I got it where the particles appear but none of the animations work properly even though they were correct. I can show the particles, place it in world space, and sometimes make it explode outwards for a split second and that's it. I did put some of my own animations into the controller if that effected anything.

@@Zelliell VR, while placing it in world space works, I have to use both hands thus immobilizing me cause moving disabled whatever gesture is held by that hand.

well if you're wanting to use the particles while moving you will need to set-up a controller with all the controls bound to one of the hands, but it works just fine for me, i dont mind not moving with controllers while i play with the particles! if you are using wanting to keep using the particles without editing anything you might want to use the keyboard to move, or room tracking to physically move around

You would have it under the hierarchy (the "Armature") in one of the hand bones to have it be locational to wherever your hand is. This works for any effect or mesh. Have them under whatever bone you wish to have it follow.
