Nice walk down that track, it used to be an old Cornish lane before camborne bypass was built in the mid 70s Wheal peevor is good one to view, because it has the three types of engine. 60” pumping engine, 22” whim and 36” stamps. Mine closed in 1887 getting to a depth of 170 fathoms. Very watchable video.👍

A lot of information you see online is naff, and you need the ability to know which is good advice and which will just make things more difficult. Maintenance spray is a generic term, and some will make the rubber melt and go sticky or even perish it. Only use silicone spray for rubber. Always drop the tyre down into the well before pulling it off with your hands. Using screwdrivers like this will chew the tyre to pieces and take all the paint off of the rim. If you feel the need to use a metal tyre lever, put a bit of plastic on the rim to save damage.

Track was loose gravel after heavy rain that morning. Drivers can only have standard tyres and 2 wheel drive. That slope is even steeper than it looks and they are limited in the run up to the start as well. So full power makes little difference, its weight and traction that counts. :)

I must say that you have captured a relaxing Atmosphere without the annoying lift music playing in the background of a great selection of rarely seen motorcycle's and vehicles, I hope you don't mind me asking but if the owner of the Yamaha 650 XS2 at video time 2:31 is watching this and is interested in selling this lovely machine Please contact me asap. Thank you.

Yeh I hate music playing too especially when its way too loud !! ( Must be getting old !! ) There are times when I do add music though, at the lowest volume it allows, due to me having to mute the original sound due to copyright infringement which would leave the video with no sound at all :)

@@RoadTripsinCornwallUK Fair play to you, your footage is very good, unlike mine filmed with an iPhone, I just video Shorts for fun for my grandchildren, they love watching where I go so I set up a channel for them, I hope you eventually gain a decent income to support your channel, I am trying to sell an Indian FTR at the moment and purchase a 70s classic XS2 Yamaha, anyway Best Wishes, from an OAP Wales UK.

First bike I ever bought was a bantam D1 . Bought it in 1967. Cost me £5. Ran for ever until I bought a tiger cub for £60 a few years later. Both bikes were so much fun.

My older Brother had a Bantam 175cc when I was bout 14yrs. I always wanted a D1 with the single seat and hardtail and finally got one as a retirement prezzie to myself. Guaranteed smiles with every mile.

I'm lucky enough to see these beautiful engines as they pass by my house on the way to the show. The drivers will always wave as they pass and all will chat about their machines at the show. If you get a chance to ride with one, don't wear light colours.

What now appears to be St Agnes Parrish Council offices used to a Lloyds Bank sub branch, initially sub to Truro and then to Perranporth, when that became a branch. It was open 3 days a week and my father was the bank clerk. We lived above the branch. This must be from 69 years ago, and was there from age 4 to 11. Went to St Agnes Primary down British Road.

A really nice bike. I took my motorcycle test on a D1 in the '60s. During the test you had to ride slowly while the examiner walked along the pavement to prove your slow riding control, keeping level with him. This D1 would tick over in first gear and go slower that the examiner, without touching the clutch lever. Fantastic machine. One question, perhaps my memory is playing up but I seem to remember that the D1 had a rigid rear frame and the D2 had plunger suspension. Perhaps you could clarify that for me?
@RoadTripsinCornwallUK2 ай бұрын
Not an expert but I think the so called D2's referred to the Frame Number being changed and not the plunger suspension as such. :)

Why are there so many Old People ? Don't the youngsters like bikes anymore, when this generation dies out, will bikes die out as well ?
@RoadTripsinCornwallUK3 ай бұрын
The majority were of the older generation but the show was for classic bikes and the youngsters ride more modern machines with fuel injection and less reliability problems. The Government aren't helping though with the push for electric bikes and the minimum sales that manufacturers have to comply with, which could well lead to dealers pulling out of the UK or be fined. Look up M.A.G for more information.
