I've found that people generally find it easier to accept adults collecting toys that are targeted at boys, so when people give me a "that's kinda weird" reaction to my doll collecting, I remind them that my adult cousin collects Transformers, my friend's husband collects Legos and Funko pops, and my late grandpa spent his entire life collecting model trains and even started a successful model train parts company. I then point out that these things are not more "adult" than dolls and that as long as your hobby doesn't negatively affect others, it's perfectly fine and dandy. People often are swayed by these comparisons because they never really check themselves on why they dont think twice about some toy collections versus others.

I don't feel like the cost of furthering damage to the environment is worth the sneak peek for a second. Honestly I'm really getting tired of hearing the complaints about this. When is companies going green going to be respected better. We all have to lean into the discomfort of change for the betterment of the younger generations also being able to enjoy the planet.

It was fun to see you open up Summer and give your first reaction. I think she is really cute too. I love the Nanea mold and her strawberry blonde hair with pastel pink highlights is so unique. She keeps looking way more cute in people's videos than she does on the official photos. The Summer you got is adorable. I probably still won't get her, because I'm saving to add Claudie and Samantha to my small collection.

I'm so glad you got her! She's so pretty and I'm also so glad they gave her glasses. It's about time! 1/2 of my dolls wear glasses, which I think is probably pretty representative of the human population. I don't need to buy Summer, as I commissioned a custom Nanea last year with strawberry blonde hair and Saige eyes. I feel like she was prophetic. :) So happy that so many people get to buy Summer and have such a pretty doll. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing! Summer is not hitting me. Not my favorite face mold and vibe. But my 9 year old niece goes crazy about puppets and rainbow clothes. On the other hand, her parents don't see a reason to pay that much when there are a lot of similar stuff at much lower price...

To me, it looks like Summer and her collection was designed for kids who just made the transition from Wellie Wishers to AG.

Summer was designed for the target audience and I’m not the target audience.

I'm glad you got her because she is super cute and I also love that she has glasses. Not a fan of all of her colors and outfits, but I do think the PJs are cute. I have a custom Nanea who looks a lot like her, so I don't need to buy her. :) And I like mine better because she has freckles, no pink in her hair and Saige's eyes. Quite a few of the items in Summers collection are recycled from the truly me line. I have most of the GOTYs from the 2020s. I’m missing Kira and Summer.

I’m not a Nanea mold fan. She looks like a Nanea/McKenna mashup. I’m not into her colors or collection so I will pass on Summer.

I'm probably only getting her because I am a collector, however...I don't like her wig. I don't like the meet outfit. I don't like the shoes. They've been reused again again.

I want an Addy face mold GOTY too! I do like the doll, but feel lukewarm toward her color pallet and collection, (way too My Life As!) and I don't plan to purchase anything except the doll herself - eventually.

Summer's collection totally gives Rainbow High to me ... But with a higher price point. 🤔

I’d love for you to do a GoTY collection ranking, though I think the earlier dolls, maybe 2005-2016 would rank considerably higher than most recent ones. I’m not a fan of this doll, though I think she will sell really with young girls, and her collection really lacks any uniqueness. I hope AG does better next year.

They're releasing them at the end of the year to get Christmas sales. It's smart business for them. Only thing I want is the sleeping bag. This doll will sell well. It's designed for 6-8 year olds. That's their new target audience for the big dolls. That's why the books are getting simpler (journals with lots of pictures and little words) and pink and pastels are ruling their collections. That's fine. They need money. I have a doll named Summer, so I'm thrilled I don't like this one. My Summer is a CYO I got during the online benefits sale years ago. She's also a blue-eyed strawberry blonde.

I think that this doll will be a hit with children / younger collectors, I do think her outfits and accessories are very cohesive. To me it seems they’ve packaged a bunch of the most popular themes (pets, bakery, rainbows) into one to try and grab a bigger younger audience. I can see why they did that for profit reasons but she doesn’t feel particularly unique or have much charm to her in my opinion. While the base doll doesn’t blow me away like Corrine and Claudie, I do quite like her face and hair colour combo and love the glasses. I would like her outfits considerably more if the shoes were just one colour though!

Have a similar set-up. I use an index card with magic marker to say what is in each drawer. Put on inside(the clothes hold it up) and then at a glance you can tell what is in each drawer without having to open all the time. You think you will remember, but trust me you don't . I have 9 Historicals and each has her own bin to hold clotes and accessories, like school bag, radio, hats etc. It has worked well so far. Although some bins are getting heavy!!
