When I played the 814 and the builders addition of the same guitar I preferred the warmer sound of the base version better but with him playing I like the sound of the Adirondack top better. Your mileage may vary. I wish this guitar came equipped with the LR Boggs duet.

Do you prefer the sound of the SC 18 or SC 28? I find the much cheaper SC 13 is not that farther behind these.

Interesting that both have the same layered wood back and sides and the same solid spruce top with the only difference being the veneer. It’s interesting that the veneer actually makes a noticeable difference. Wild! The 214ce is a great sounding guitar which makes you wonder why folks pay more. It has all the tonal qualities of higher end Taylor’s!

Can you please tell me which one would be a better guitar for an early intermediate player? I am looking for a long term versatile guitar :) Also, If I decide to upgrade, after 10 years will the outdated electronics affect the guitar's resale value?

You cant go wrong with any. Taylor offer brighter. Martin offer warmer/softer sounds. I'd love to have the martin, but wouldnt mind the taylor. Both sounds really good on their own.

Brilliant demos. I love the sound of this guitar. The fact it has the best pickup system is just a bonus. Companies like LR Baggs need to produce something like this to compete, currently the Anthem does not compete.

Would love to see this amazing player play a Martin GPC 16 rosewood. The problem I have with him is he makes every guitar sound great. For a guitar like the Martin GPC 16 /Taylor 314, what other models would you recommend for a mixture of finger picking and strumming hits from the 80's to 00's. Also need a pickup for looping and occasional stage use. Where I live, I cannot sample many guitars.

Thanks :) Sadly we don't have the GPC 16 in stock right now so I can't make a demo of the guitar. It comes really close to the sound of the GPC-13E, so you can use that guitar as a reference point. If you need some suggestions for other models you can look at, you can check out some 000 models of martin like the 000-15M. It plays really smooth. You can even put a custom pickup in that guitar to make it sound more like you want. Buying guitars with pickups already in it always removes the freedom to customize your guitar. There are a lot of different pickups you can put in your guitar and we at Muziekhuis Souman have a wide range of different ones to put in your guitar. We put the pickup you want in the guitar for you.
