Hi, do you know how to do validation in DEM software? I am new in ROCKY DEM. In case of Ansys Fluent, normally we use several parameters such as Residual Value, Conservation of Mass and Energy, Mesh Independency Test and Iteration test. How about DEM? Could you please inform it to us Thank you so much for your help and support

Hi. Great work! One question for you. If we have a corn silo, could we be able to conduct the flow analysis of that case? What I want to say, every type of the grain(seed) has its own shape, cohesion, friction etc... Is it possible to model that with reliable results?
@engineerdo656827 күн бұрын
Yes that is possible. Probably even with analytic calculations depending on the shape of the silo. You can get in touch over our website

@@engineerdo6568 Thanks, I will chack your web. You know, I am a structural civil engineer, and for me is importan load on the strucuture coused by discharging or charging, or in case of eurthquake interaction between bulk material and the sheel. Now i am looking for solution... DEM seems to be very good, but I am not sure is it possible in eneginnering manner to couple FEM and DEM (let say that I think about forces on the shell due discharcing material)? For now, RFEM software(you probably heard about it) seems to be very good for structural engineer, and DEM for silo functionality.

What are the optimal angles?
@engineerdo6568Ай бұрын
In short: That depends mostly on the friction value between the bulk solid and the wall structure. Must be measured for each material. Also it depends on what type of silo you want to have. There are reasons to build each.

I think I found the solution. This error occurs if "mpi.h" file is missing. I ran a sample code : #include <mpi.h> #include <iostream> int main(int argc, char** argv) { MPI_Init(&argc, &argv); std::cout << "MPI initialized successfully." << std::endl; MPI_Finalize(); return 0; } and saved it as "mpi_test.cpp" then After creating the mpi_test.cpp file, compile it with: mpicxx mpi_test.cpp -o mpi_test Run the compiled program to ensure MPI is working: mpirun -np 1 ./mpi_test You should see the output: MPI initialized successfully. After running this , I found the error : kanak@kanak-HP-ProBook-440-G6:~/Documents$ mpicxx mpi_test.cpp -o mpi_test mpi_test.cpp:1:10: fatal error: mpi.h: No such file or directory 1 | #include <mpi.h> | ^~~~~~~ compilation terminated. kanak@kanak-HP-ProBook-440-G6:~/Docu so I installed this : sudo apt update sudo apt install openmpi-bin libopenmpi-dev which eventually solved the problem.

Thank you for the simulation. but it seems it has a specific agenda that is to prove Elon Musk wrong. Firstly Elon Musk never said CT drag coefficient is 0.3. He said: "with significant effort, the CT MIGHT achieve a drag coef. of 0.3". And he said that several years ago. Please be fair. Secondly, it would be very useful if you used the same simulation software to calculate the Cd for Ford F-150 Lightning, and a couple of other ICE trucks. Finally the Cd of CT truck reported elsewhere appears to be 0.36 and that value is obtained in a real wind tunnel. Ford F150 lightning has a reported wind tunnel Cd of 0.44.
@yavuzkangal11 ай бұрын
I correct myself. 0.36 (CT) and (0.44) are also obtained from simulations. Also, please remember that this simulation is based on the initial design which is bigger than the final product today. The simulation is more than 3 years old. So the drag coef. needs to be revised down.
@engineerdo656811 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The simulation shown here is a showcase for the use of CFD software in this case openFoam. You will also find a very different car on this channel and you will learn how you can use simulations to understand drag and lift better and how Eddie's are created

your missing One key aspect with the lifts, real world lifts have a slight negative (-5) tilt back on the top side to help dump more on the down stroke in to the funnel this will prevent items form returning at a much higher rate.
