WOW! You got the BEST online version of this classic. In fact, I’m gonna count it as attending church 😂. Gimme that old time religion 😊 Thanks!!!

7:59- Sorry John but you don’t sound like Louis Armstrong. Still, I think his new raspy voice sounds awesome

Wow, I first thought this was a cheesy TV show. But really great questions for John to give some interesting, thoughtful answers.

I was there! Great show! Shortly thereafter he cancelled the rest of the tour because of his heart attack! In my opinion, he's never really been the same since . . . .

I remember as a kid & watched this on the TV! Next day went to school & we all raved about him! As a tender he played a huge part in my teens!

I can't watch Charlie Rose anymore without more or less knowing or considering his misadventures in private. He was a sexual abuser, right?

As I watch him now, it seems with what I know now that Charlie was self important and sort of melodramatic. PLEASE disagree.

wow, he's a very complicated person, very evident. what a talent. You could tell he was going to burst onto the scene if he hadn't already. "I need a lover" was really a great tune.

Wow man. It's 2023 and John Mellencamp did an interview where he spoke of his spinal bifica surgery when he was only 6 weeks old. Several children all got that surgery and the rest died except for one girl who was paralyzed from the neck down. John recalled seeing her at basketball games and that she died at 13 years old. The surgery John spoke of as having his head cut off. Now I understand this song title.

His voice amd energy in this clip are incredible. And he was so cute and young here. The lyrics of this song state what we're all feeling but he had the courage to write about it. Fan for life here!
