Armand, Amun was actually a beautiful villian who did all of this because his love for Lestat wasn't reciprocated so he actually just wanted him all to himself hence killing or rather attempting to kill his only remaining family/loved ones. Like Armand I don't think Claudia actually got over being loved more by Lestat by Louis because she wanted to be closer to Louis more and thought Lestat was the reason for Louis being sombre instead of him being in his own head and hating being a night walker

14:39 "on the spectrum": Autism and mental health are two separate and unrelated things. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder which affects mostly social interactions. Paul was hallucinating and talking to the air, thinking that birds are telling him to ask questions, and then unalived himself. This is clearly not autism lol, it's probably schizophrenia and maybe depression too.

This mini ended on so many plotholes it's not even funny... How come the Morlocks and Creep's village are still fine when Orchis knows where they are ? Did nobody think about rescuing the mutants who were locked up on that island ? How did Maddie not notice them with her mercy crown ? Why did Maddie's team not talk about the Bamf Dragon attack to the other one ? Thet were surprised when they saw it. Why. Did they let Emplate. A cannibal with no morals. Go free. When Orchis is still out there. And just used a Mutant as a Trojan horse to get in the Embassy ?
@spinningtornado4543

There really was a huge problem with the way characters were used and how their powers worked in this mini : - You brought it up in this video and I agree, Maddie shouldn't be on the same level as Jean or have her powers come from an X-Gene. There was such an easy way to fix this plothole too : Have her telekinesis be a result of the demonic deals she made in her past and tied to magic (ex of limitation: she can only manipulate things corrupted by demonic magic as such she needs to corrupt first then TK them second. This creates an interesting moment of self reflexion for Maddie and the nature of her powers). Her telepathy would also be magical but only work on demons ; think of it as a boost or bonus she got as the now Ruler of Limbo. This way you can explain how the Goblin Queen could read her mind or how Maddie managed to know what was going on inside the Bamf Dragon's ; Both were corrupted by Limbo magic and became demonic through it so her powers can work on both. This would also explain why she couldn't TK Warren to the teleportation zone : She would need to corrupt him first and doing that on a living being is irreversible (ex Bamf Dragon). - The Goblin Queen in this mini is a character from Secret Wars. She was way more powerful than how she was portrayed here and to have her die from a scythe swing is disappointing to say the least. - The Orchis agents were wasted overall. You had a tech expert and a magic one : You could have had perfected Sentinels or sentinel tech given to the average Orchis soldier through him/spy tech from the future. You could have had more magically corrupted mutants thrown into the mix. The sky is the limit really. - Archangel was wasted for no reason. You might not have known this but he wasn't supposed to be DX-M's first death (it was originally Azazel) or even included. You can clearly feel this in the writing Warren got because he was nerfed to the ground while in his Horsemen of Death form of all things. He was abandoned by his friends (again) even tho they took Feint who was right next to him to the teleportation zone with them. His healing factor was apparently a joke and his healing blood was forgotten about even tho it could have saved Havok and avoided the whole situation with the Faltine magic Maddie used on him. His friends don't care about him whatsoever, didn't even investigate the attack he led on the Morlocks or why he was in the state they found him in all magically corrupted and missing skin. No after credits burial as you said. - Azazel also got seriously nerfed in DX-M. His powers include shapeshifting, magic (hex bolts) and teleportation amongst other things yet he barely used the latter and seemingly forgot he could even do that in his last moments. He has poisonous blood yet died by being eaten alive and the creature who did it flew away after being punched by a teen girl with not enough combat experience to even be seen a New Mutants recruit. For reference, the last time Azazel showed up in a comic run, he managed to completely decapitate Sabretooth with one sword swing and slowed down time so his regeneration didnt immediately fix him up.

This entire mini feels like an apology Marvel made to anyone who read Dark Web and saw how it handled Maddie's character (in short, it was this but worse). The issue with it is that to do so, it had to : - Throw many, many characters under the bus - Take the easiest way out of a big problem - Go for the most surface level of character analysis possible Which makes this a waste of a potentially cool premise because at the end of the day, It brought nothing new to the table.

You can't imagine the number of people who switched to calling it a "philosophy" all because Si Spurrier calls it as such in interviews, even tho with everything he estsblished and wrote on it, it goes beyond the definition of a philosophy and falls straight into the religion category.

14:11 I genuinely felt the same about this whole situation. It doesnt help that around the same time Destiny's been brought back to life, you also had Blindfold (stated plenty of times to be a stronger precog than Destiny) being resurrected who's shown no concern over this apparently impending doom looming over Mutantkind, everything and everyone she knew and loved. One of the visions she showed was even of an older (horned) Nightcrawler sitting at the QC with his Bamfs (who've been missing since Krakoa started) which means she knew a way to get to peaceful futures. But what finally seals this for me as an ass pull of a story is that Destiny predicted the Sabretooth wars, an event that hasn't come out yet and means nothing to her, to Mutantkind and to Krakoa in general seeing how no one would be there to witness it in the first place and it feels like a pebble compared to all of this Dominion stuff. She did not predict AXE that nuked the island, Or the Orchis attack at the HFG (every Gala got infiltrated/attacked by Orchis why would anyone be surprised anymore), Or the magic illness that hit the island in LoX, Or Nightcrawler being used by Orchis to kill politicians, Or this Dominion stuff (until last minute), And so many other bigger problems than Sabretooth. But she knew about his specific event by the second HFG. Also this White Hot Room story could have been prevented by stopping Jean Grey from getting killed and all that takes is having her not attend the HFG : The Quiet Council members weren't even forced to attend the Gala (ex Storm and Nightcrawler) so Jean wasn't under any obligation to be here in the first place, not even as an ex-QC member as Apocalypse wasn't there either. Destiny wouldn't even need to talk about the Dominion to Jean (is nobody gonna mention this is pretty much the premise of the Bye Bye Man horror movie of 2017 ?) just, "I have not predicted an Orchis attack but it's become a yearly thing for them to do at this point so for the sake of everyone, you are one of the best candidates as well as your old X-Men team to go on a mission and further investigate them".
@RodericMontrece

Excellent points! And I contend that if Jean had gone to the Treehouse and Scott stayed the Orchis’ whole plan would have backfired. And can we talk about WHY the QC let Horticulture meander around with the secret of the gates and not send X-Force to take them out?! As the “CIA of Krakoa” having 4 old women who can tamper with the gates would be priority NUMBER ONE!!

The interesting part about this Goblin Queen version of Madelyne is that it's not a clone of the current one. It is an alternative version of herself, who went down the exact same path she did up until she completely gave up her humanity of her own volution for more power. The way she's acting here has no connection to Orchis as she was already like this when they found her. The GQ is Madelyne if she went down a much darker path.

I was disappointed in this 4th issue. Its only upside it had is that it compensated the reduced amount of plot progression of #2 and #3 but, as a direct downside, it wasted so much time and pages on things that didn't matter. Like the data one with Nightcrawler (plain dialogue like in a stage play and 1/4 of a page was left blank) which is a conversation that contradicts so much stuff and is very much pointless right now : It's from Dawn of X, set 3 years ago for mutants and more than 4 to us readers, made right after all the villains came to Krakoa (Azazel is already there) and the laws got made (Xavier is talking about them). It's supposed to show that Kurt wouldn't give a biased opinion as a member of the Quiet Council if Azazel, his and Abyss' father, were to break a law/do something bad/ suddenly get involved just because he's his father. Problem is, Xavier of all people should already know the answer to that question. After all, it was Nightcrawler who personally sent Azazel to Riker Island right after he dragged him back to Earth when he tried taking over Heaven so Nightcrawler wouldn't hesitate in enacting justice. It's also weird for the topic of this conversation to be about Azazel as the parent Nightcrawler would "have an issue giving proper judgement on and acting unbiased towards of" during Dawn of X when Mystique is right there at the Council. Chronologically, since the laws were already made by the time this talk happened, Nightcrawler was already shown to answer to Mystique's demands and taunts. The only law he made at the Council, "make more mutants", (and his only contribution in Dawn of X with all things considered) was a direct answer to a taunt Mystique made towards him. There are no rhyme or reason to this law's origins other than "Mystique called Nightcrawler a priest, to which he quoted the Bible and used that as a new law". It's a waste of page (minis don't have plenty of these) that could have been used on : - Readying Ben Reilly through mind-control to fight the Dark X-Men in the next issue (to pay off that cover) and explicitly giving his PoV on what he underwent (you gain another page by taking away that last data one with the weird spelling). - Showing Maggott's grief over Warren's death and how he lives now with the Morlocks while reluctantly still keeping contact with the Dark X-Men. You gain space in Rogue and Gambit's talk through that by removing that element and putting another in its place (Ex. Why not join Emma's team?). - Showing the inner conflict and expending growth Madelyne underwent in her new position as the leader of a sanctuary for mutants and her new view on Jean's past work. - Showing how many mutants the Limbo Embassy rescued since the Dark X-Men came to be and how the other Fall of X mini teams interact with it. Ex. Have Emma directly ask on specific mutants with Madelyne using the Mercy Crown to give a yes/no question on if they're alive/imprisoned/ ... - Showing the actual value in the Limbo Embassy for the mutant families that have been welcomed since Dark Web and ever since Fall of X started. - If there really REALLY needed to be a conversation between Xavier and Kurt on Azazel, have it be set during Reign of X when Nightcrawler uncovered that the law he made led to many mutant babies being abandoned in the wild to die by their own uncaring parents (like he himself was) or Destiny of X when Nightcrawler was suddenly affected by an unknown illness which might be magical in origin (Azazel knows magic and has used it on Kurt plenty of times already). The talk would then be the perfect knife twist after the weird scene Nightcrawler had in Inferno#2 with Mystique where he gave her his vote to "please her".

They really killed Archangel for nothing... I'm sadly not surprised. What a waste. The timeline is rather weird in this issue : From Dark X-Men#1 to #3, everything happened in the same single night and seemed to be heading in that direction but here things suddenly get murky with this timejump for no reason. Maggott left for awhile from what Rogue said, Gambit explained the Dark X-Men went on a few more missions after the Morlocks/Marisol encounters and Madelyne has stopped mutants who went AWOL and wrecked havoc in another mini. So did days pass since that night ? Weeks ? Months ? Did nothing really happen on the Orchis side of things this whole time since Dark X-Men#3 ? It's so strange since they had the upper hand overall even after their past failures against the team. They could have attacked the Embassy right away just like here. From my research, this issue should have been written around the time the writer strike went down in America (I'm a foreign reader) so this might explain the messiness, lack of cohesiveness and why the editors are so lenient on how characters' powers work (the Madelyne situation) or how their lore goes (the Azazel situation). The first two DX-M issues already had a similar organizational problem because they were finished BEFORE the Hellfire Gala's was done : In a few interviews Steve Foxe had with fans, he stated the horror factor makes a huge jump between DX-M #2 to #3 because it was around that time his team finally got to see how stuff went down at the Gala with their own two eyes and used it as standard... At the midway point of writing their own run and after they already sent the definite versions of the scripts and artworks of it. That's why between DX-M and X-Men, it's the latter that has the most on-screen violence and horror elements even tho the first was advertised as such. The X-Office doesn't communicate properly...

Contrary to what you might think, Ben doesn't hate mutants at all, he even helped the X-Men a bunch back when he was Spider-Man. Ben hates the people who imprisoned him at the Limbo Embassy (which is led by mutants) and that's mainly Madelyne because she treated him unfairly after promising to help him regain his memories from Peter if he helps her regain hers from Jean. Cue to Bootleg Inferno aka Dark Web which ended with Madelyne getting her memories from Jean... And completely cheating Ben out of his end of the deal.

From my knowledge, the writer of Dark X-Men is actually a big Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider fan : He absolutely hated Chasm and the Dark Web event as a whole for what it did to both the X-Men and Spider-Man). In short, there is a high chance that the stupid moments of Dark Web will be rectified and there won't be any Chasm character involved : Just Ben Reilly doing hero stuff while pretending to work for Orchis.

@@RodericMontrece Me too, especially after what Legion of X pulled on him (Margali Szardos's magic disease mutated and mind-controlled him) which was pretty much brushed under the rug in that series and overall meant nothing. Dark X-Men wasn't any better when it gave him 1 line of dialogue in the entirety of its first half before this death. Still, here's what I think is being done in this mini : - Warren attacking the Morlocks is the clue the team needs to realize Albert (the Wolverine android) is unwillingly used as Trojan horse for Orchis because these strategic attacks happening on those previously uncontacted, isolated mutant communities right when the team was planning on visiting them (the same night Warren was kidnapped and Albert was kept) can't be a coincidence. - Warren being mind-controlled is the other clue the team needs to figure out that, not only does Orchis have a magic user in its ranks, this magic user is an alternative reality Goblin Queen. The one who could figure this bit out during Archangel's attack on the boat is the only magic user that team has, aka Azazel. This explains why he didn't seem to be doing anything when it went down like attacking Warren (whom he hates) or saving his own skin (he stated his main goal was his own self-preservation). He was studying the magical corruption Warren had, which required time hence why he didn't directly teleport on Warren and end him or drop a "teammate" on him from the start. - Warren getting killed has two purposes. Firstly, it's the only way Havok's condition would remain as unstable as it is since if Warren was restored back to normal, his healing blood could be used on Alex and completely fix him up, undermining the Madelyne/Alex codependency plot thread. Secondly, Warren being kept alive after returning to normal would "spoil" the entirety of Orchis's plan (if the run was 4 issues long like Children of the Vault, his survival would have saved time to close all lose ends). If Warren was restored on the boat, it would imply there was also a way to undo Goblin Queen's corruption on the Bamf Dragon (Limbo Monster Nightcrawler) which appears to be something Maddie herself is unable to do in that encounter. All of these are, of course, not the best reasons to kill off Warren as they basically make him less of a character and more of a tool in the plot. It would have been nice to get a glimpse into his mind during the attack and before dying but this mini doesn't have a lot of time left or any to begin with.

I think the main reason why they went looking for Flourish/Creep instead of someone like Mystique is because Madelyne wants to rescue mutants, not build an army of them (yet). Look at Callisto and Marisol : Both are pretty much the main leaders of a small mutant community that could easily be targeted and decimated by Orchis overnight if they were to be found, the first because the Morlocks often lack useful powers (ex one of the Morlocks has powerful precognition but it gets to the point where it physically paralyses her and traps her in her mind) and the latter because the village doesn't seem to have anyone with "powers" to speak of. Another thing is that, contrary to Mystique, Matisol is just a teenager with a lot of responsibility on her shoulders as the sole protector of her people. Her powers are tied to her emotions : If she's incapacitated in any way, shape or form, her village is completely defenceless. So Madelyne went to Marisol to give support to both her and her village as they're pretty much cut off from the rest of the world during this Crisis. (The "Why not Mystique?" has another answer : Si Spurrier called dibs on her character for a chunk of his Uncanny Spider-Man mini and his future X-Men Blue one-shot. Sadly, the minis won't have any crossovers with one another so this explains that.)

My main problem with this issue is that it was revealed in Dan Slott's run that Franklin was never a mutant and his abilities were tied to the fact he was a mutate with reality bending abilities. That was the canon within Fantastic Four for years now, Reed knows, Franklin knows... Oh but who made that reveal to Franklin you ask ? Charles Xavier himself, who didn't seem surprised at all by that information when he announced it to the teen and told him to leave his sight. So Reed's "X-gene masking" machine doesn't mask the X-gene as the only person it was used on (Franklin) doesnt have one in the first place and as such it cannot of any use to the mutants. That machine would be more akin to a "reality bending nullifier" really if it affected Franklin at all (I have my doubts because Reed seemingly didn't notice that his own son was never a mutant when he made that thing just for him). I think even Kitty knows Franklin isn't a mutant (she stated as much during the 1st Hellfire gala) so I don't see the point of her sending her team to the FF.

Yeah, the plan seems very half-baked. And that still doesn’t address why the FF are on the sidelines and why they haven’t been helping. FWIW, I was VERY disappointed with that whole X-Men vs FF run.

@@RodericMontrece Same. Tho, I can somewhat make sense as to why they couldn't have helped Krakoa in its time of need (the last Orchis attack) : By the looks of it, it all went down in less than an hour and, unless they were on the island with everyone else, they couldn't have known it happened until it was too late. Their only clue would be that all mutants suddenly decided to head to the portals (... Except in the end many of them didn't move at all so not really a good clue) and seeing how that coincided with the 3rd year Gala, from an outsider's point of view, it could have just been that a general meeting was requested telepathically. So unless the FF suspected anything at all and had flowers ready for the travel through the Gates (which are still preventing non-mutants from passing as far as they know), they couldn't have intervened on time to help with this.

@@RodericMontrece Unless I misunderstood what was stated in this issue, the Fantastic Four have been on vacation for awhile now after consecutively going on a multitude of missions in a short amount of time : This farm looks like it is in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I don't think they checked any kind of news recently on anything or they would have known about Captain America's publicly announced suspicions on Orchis and reacted accordingly because they trust HIM and his words. Other than that, what exactly do you expect them to do ? ... Defend mutants publicly ? The reason Captain America himself is struggling this much in Uncanny Avengers is because this isn't the first time mutants were involved in political assassinations since Krakoa started : Prior to the Fall of Krakoa (I'd said a few weeks to a month), the biggest headlines were about Nightcrawler, a Quiet Council member, killing a bunch politicians and their families (while being mind-controlled) on a world-wide scale... And never being brought to justice because he ran off God-knows-where. The Fantastic Four know She-Hulk and she is Krakoa's official attorney so she would have told them if there was any trial in preparation. In this case? There were none so a "criminal" was let go by the mutant government even after one of their laws were broken. Then you have the whole X-Men Green storyline where Nature and Curse went on a killing spree targeting humans, with the Quiet Council letting them do whatever. And in between all of this, you have Madelyne Pryor, a mutant, getting Krakoa's support in creating her Limbo Embassy after she led a demonical attack TWICE in the same city (the first Inferno and Dark Web), both accumulating many human casualties. All of these together would make a defense attorney sweat in court, let alone them especially without any context or proof of innocence. ... Help mutants directly ? Kitty's team is the first group of mutants they met in a long time and THEY were the ones to come to THEM because the FF don't have the tools to find any mutant. They can't collect them from the streets because mutants are in hiding : Without Cerebro, the Mercy Crown or the Sentinels, they stand no chance in tracking any of scattered mutants and getting to them before Orchis does. And after Reed's "X-gene nullifier" fail, do you think the FF even know how to possibly track mutants, if they misunderstood what mutants were this badly in the first place to create a tool that doesn't work on them ?

I still don't understand how people are dunking on DC when Marvel under disney has been doing surface level storylines, I don't think anyone would be as outraged with x-force stopping like they are with like a doom patrol because even when they are mind controlled they are responsible enough to have you care. Im really annoyed Marvel let Disney ruin their brand so much. Sidebar: have you watched/read Strange Planet with the purple beings
