A complete beginners guide that starts someone off by showing a third party sponsor website to by single cards. Then you mention you need the second set starter because you already have the first one. If a complete beginner watches this they most likely would be so confused. This title is really misleading

Great stream! Gary was 1 for 2 on games for me. Galileo Galilei is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to get a copy at some point. Video Game Champion was a bust for me. It's definitely a heavier/more complex game than the cover would indicate.

The recent expansion for 3000 Scoundrels, Double or Nothing, added a solo mode. I recently got the game and expansion, but have not had a chance to table it yet.

You can most certainly play 116 games in a year... in 2023 on my youtube channel I played 136 brand new, never played before games... plus all of the regular games I had played before and ended upon in the 400 games played range.. But I am a serious youtuber and put out more content then everyone board gamer out there...

When using the solo mode Nectar boards I believe you add/subtract tokens where it matches to the habitat icons on the Adjust Spent Nectar card, it’s not based on which round it is.

This was like a trip to the gaming store without leaving my house. Really enjoyed that. A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing the web for a game that has been out of print since it’s first and only printing in 2017. Lo and behold! Cape Fear Games still had two copies of it. It was a great moment! Used the code, got the discount, and the game arrived last week.

Board games are like houseplants to me. Some will thrive and others not so much but looked nice while they were around. For example: I bought a game for spooky season this year and after several plays this year…I can confidently pass it on to someone else to enjoy next year. No need to keep it. I recently culled a bunch of games that we had, as a family, outgrown like Candy Land etc.

As for new games: Fairy Ring looks fun and Reef project. Daybreak caught my eye because of the hopeful theme but the actual play through I’ve seen don’t have me sold on it. So looking into Reef project a little more. Used games: Bitoku

OMG, I played Arctic Scavengers in 2009. I didn't know it was reprinted. It was one of the first deckbuilders but was sort of an indie game back then.

I like watching the videos of how to play a game because so many games can look all blingy on the box and description of it, but can end up being marketing hype. There ARE plenty of games that STILL give me that feeling, but I don't want to be just buying stuff and then disappointed or have it taking up space on the shelf.

I like Search for Planet X. I have only played it solo but I think it’s competitive to find the information multiplayer. I would like to try Flashpoint. Creature Caravan looks gorgeous and I have been reading about it on Instagram and it sounds fun. Really enjoyed the health and safety warning about metal vs wooden pieces. 😂

I often feel like I'm being manipulated to buy a products which isn't a great feeling.

I love the variety of new games, it just means you can find games to match very specific criteria. I look for engine building solo-able games with a scenario/campaign mode, engaging art, non-table hog, 30-60 minute gameplay, and unique theme. 😅 Still plenty of options even with pretty specific criteria.

CDMD is one of my favorite co-op games, and I'm not a big Cthulhu person either. It's dice chucking chaos while your characters get more powerful as they go crazy. It's about balance and risk management on a timer. I'm currently playing online with a few out of state friends in a house ruled campaign mode, and it's been a blast. I'd absolutely recommend you try before you buy given the size of the even the core box alone.

This game has absolutely captivated me. Loving playing this game, I'm signed up to play at one of the UK's planetary qualifiers in 2 weeks time. I'm highly unlikely to place well, but I just love playing the game - win or lose! I recently made a palpatine red deck which I'm having a blast with 🤩

Solo gaming allows me to get away from a screen and be mentally stimulated. I think we could all use a little less screen time these days and get back to some “old school” fun even if ya have to do it alone. Alone time can be a good thing even when you have lots of friends.

I have little bit more than 100 (not counting expansions) and am constantly trying to get rid of some, because I am buying constantly. So buying is the problem and I sometimes feel stressed because of the huge Pile of Shame. But also excited about most of them. Soooo... We will see if I can find a better balance in the future.
