I think your comments are spot on Dave. It doesn't seem like there is a point in doing an end can if you are chasing good sound. FYI for people wondering, the box at the back of the exhaust is a resonator. The Cat is the wider part of the exhaust up towards the headers. I assume you had to cut your exhaust to fit this if you are using the stock headers?

@wpet86 mine is an LT1. It's an auto. They're both great. Mine has 197,000 miles. Runs like a top.

Save about 2k more and buy a c5. You will be able to buy parts from an autozone instead of the junkyard or an old man's backyard. The c5 is more reliable and much, much faster. You wanna drift? Get an angle kit. You wanna drag race? Get a turbo or supercharger kit. The c4 is a great looking car, but you will regret not buying a c5.
