Other than the good knife jaw in the beginning, there is no way those other aquarium fish tasted any good. Tons of game fish out there to be wasting time on rubbish.

We'll usually eat all the fish, either by making sushi, grilling it or making some kind of soup. Eel is pretty good too if you fry it, it has to be cooked. As far as gear goes, the dive shops on base pretty much nail it, the only thing you'll want to order online is the Spears, all the ones here are really poor quality. Military personnel are supposedly limited to pole Spears, but I know a few guys that use spear guns.

Ha, thanks. Well we try to clean them at the beach to keep the smell down, but if we do have to clean them at the BEQ we'll do it outside, then zip lock them for the fridge.

we are almost certain the spears are made by Aquacraft. JCS and Mako do however both make and sell the exact same model made with the same solid black aluminum shaft and steel core tip. I believe the one you described with "those broad silver connectors" is manufactured by mako, and does sell for a lot less than $80 however it's not the same one that we carry, most notably due to the difference in thread size. They are too fat to fit our tips.
