The portable equipment workbench is a great idea "in the field." NotD won't stack certain equal objects (parts like sights, scopes, etc) so breaking them into iron/alum/mag helps save space. God, looting in Legend is anything but legendary; sparse books, stingy boxes, gray drops -- kinda crazy. I only tried up to Hard with day minutes up a setting, no material respawn. (I know respawn ON is part of the setting, but I don't like it at all; I want to see the permanent effects of my logging/mining/looting) RIP sound at 1:19:00
@checkyoursixgaming5 ай бұрын
Looting should be basically the same from normal on up. The only difference is I have respawn on and the default for loot respawn is off. Still, it is rough in getting loot in the game and takes time. So having proper time management on harder difficulties is essential to success. Can't wait until you see my build setup later.

Research Data eventually doesn't matter. Getting a bunch early is a huge help for progression, but at the same time, stopping for every mailbox is a bit time consuming as well. If one is along the way I am going and in my line of vision I pop it. Otherwise it isn't a big deal. They can spawn up to 10, but they can have as few as 3. The Heavies are going to spawn 25 upon death all the time although I am not at this point massacring them. I will though soon.

So, if it weren't for that you're calling it a "tutorial" with info taken from yada, yada, yada.....I wouldn't give what may be taken as negative comments. However....this is far more work than needed and far more complicated. On Legend, you can do FAR less than this and not need nearly as much resources or time spent to last the first wave. Not sure where you got your info from, but somehow you missed one of the most common, and by far easier methods to last the first few waves. This allows you to use those resources as well as the time to build your permanent base. With that said, you definitely explained a lot of things for new people and I'm sure it will help. Not saying this is bad, not at all.....just as a notice to new people watching that this is extremely over board on what you need for first few nights, so don't let this overwhelm you if you don't have all these materials and it's getting dark fast.
@checkyoursixgaming7 ай бұрын
Yes, if one is willing to kite a bit it can be done with less resources even without cheesing the trap setup design. However, if you are also doing perma death then kiting is far too risky. I did this in a way to guarantee easy survival of the first few nights on Legend without doing a cheese setup which I show in other videos. The layout in this video is a little overboard, but if you don't want to risk dying this is the best way to go about surviving the harder difficulties without cheese. The setup in this video is to create a nice loop of traps that are easy to reload and protect you from range attacks still. The base position as I said is a very nice spot as it is near a sewer with a Giant and around all the original starting missions. The hill on the backside of the red house has a ton of iron nodes as well. There is easy access to a camp fire too. The base is strategically placed for the early game. I will say that one can leave the base there and grow it, or move to more optimal places like the Mansion with the pool that more people prefer to go to. I have been able to kill Viktor by Day 2 on Legend doing this strat. Here is the timeline of my setup. Day 0 - setup base for horde. Day 1 - clear sewer to get red weapon drop Day 1 - clear research center. Day 1 - clear hospital. Day 2 - Clear to Guards house. Day 2 - Clear military camp. Day 2 - Kill Viktor. It is not an easy timeline, but it is doable if not using the cheese strat for base design.
@TheGolferguy717 ай бұрын
@@checkyoursixgaming Kiting? Where did you come up with that? The base may work, but it's definitely not "the way to go". Two shredders will get you through night one and two easily, probably even three though I usually add a third on Day 3 and that lasts me until Day 6 or so. Not saying this is terrible, but it's not even remotely the best way. I play on 4000% and wasting all those materials is a little cringe, not to mention a new player will typically not have that much just due to little things like, reading all the tool tips and trying to find stuff because they're not familiar with the interface. For most people on first play through, just getting a trap or two before nightfall is a challenge. Doubt there's a lot of Perma Death players on their first go either. Like I said, it's not terrible, and can be done. Where you're going wrong is trying to act like this is the best way to go. Basically a noob trying to act like an authority on the game which you're clearly not. You're timeline is pretty standard actually, certainly not better than the norm.

Oh I had no idea you could just outright stack 3x batteries and 4x gennies on the core tower xD 23 hours in at Snow Ruins I've been putting utility walls along the side and rear of the tower and doorframes on the front to act as a core support for the rest of the floors in my base and slapping Generic Walls inbetween Utility Walls and material containers on the floor inbetween again to make space for Generators & Batteries instead. Super helpful though this video is.

how do you fix the support issiu when i build like this its red and dosent have support i got a similier build like this but i beefed it more with more walls and stuff dont have so mutch hellfier turrets right now only 16 and how your ammo belts are working you combo it with the manuel and the automatic is it possibel that if they produce the ammo falls into the manuel box or how this works?
@checkyoursixgaming8 ай бұрын
So walls provide better support than pillars. Armored Tiles require less support than normal tiles. If you watch the segment with the xray parts of the base, I basically am creating 1x2 cells all the way up stacked on top of each other. These are 2 utility tiles surrounded by 6 walls. This way I can fit 2 batteries on the two long side walls and material crates underneath the battery packs. As long as the walls are stacked on top of each other they provide support all the way up to the max height of 8 walls high the game allows you to build. The game then allows you to build out 2 tiles for free from a wall without support. This can be 2 regular tiles or two armored tiles. Armored tiles will grant you much more space obviously as they are the equivalent of 4 utility tiles in a square in terms of space. The issue with Armored tiles is they don't have the same connection points and provide less support for items attached to them unless the things being attached are on the edges of the direct center connection point of an armored tile. Where I am removing walls in the second level to insert 406mm cruiser cannons, I have to use pillars around those to provide support. When a pillar is providing support it has to be stack on another support item that goes all the way to the ground floor. This means Pillars must be stacked on walls that go all the way down to the ground floor or other pillars that go all the way down. This game does not like "offset" designs when going higher. It does not provide support to walls that are not directly on top of each other. If you look at the design of the main portion of the base, in the xray mode you will see all walls are stacked on top of other walls that go all the way to the ground floor. Or pillars are stacked on top of other pillars that go all the way down. Again, you get a 2 tile away "support" from any wall or pillar that is supported from the ground up for room at any given level. As far as the ammo goes, I don't use conveyor betls. The belts add too much of a performance hit to my computer than what I like. So I make those little 1x1 cells of a single utility tile size space around the Advanced Autoloader pick up area. Any regular ammo maker that makes ammo will still have the Autoloader use it's arm to grab ammo from. Any of the auto ammo makers will drop ammo directly below them into the same space the auto loader will pick up from. Ideally it takes 1.5 auto ammo makers to feed a 9 amped Hellfire that is non stop firing in Infinity Siege mode. In normal tour mode, the Hellfires don't fire constantly to need that much ammo production. The way I have it setup I can use 2 auto ammo makers per Hellfire easily, but I can also stack more utility walls on top to add another 2 dropping into the same box pick spot for the auto loader. This allows me to go very far into the infinite siege mode without ammo problems.
