I disagree. This technology is killing fisheries. If you dont care about kilking something then you arent an outdoorsman
@Old_Sailor853 ай бұрын
Pros should not use it. Most non-pros can't afford it.
@clientclient28143 ай бұрын
You missed their point ☝️. FFS should be used by the weekend angler....NOT PROS on the PRO LEVEL. ... FFS is fine for some of the examples you used....but not PROFESSIONALLY... NOT TOP LEVEL. BUT ITS FINE FOR EVERYONE ELSE. Pay attention sonny...listen more ..talk less and listen carefully....and you might actually hear 🙉 what 'someone else is actually saying'........its really hard for most people....MOST people do not listen...they are just waiting to talk.... Like someone else already said.. you actually agree with Randy and Hank. So all good. 👍
@brandon_j_usa41413 ай бұрын
Your very respectful and I appreciate that. I believe your missing the point tho. Yes, efficacy and upgrades are great. FFS is great for the weekend worrier, KZbinr and pre fishing but shouldn't be allowed in the Tournament's. That's what Randy is talking about and it sounds like you agree 3/4 into this video but then going on about how you disagree.
@jedmeadows62263 ай бұрын
I commend your demeanor in stating your opinions. Hower, I respectfully must state that I believe that if unchecked FFS will be a huge detriment to our fish stocks that are already getting relentlessly hammered.

Thank you for your comment Jed, I appreciate you sharing your take on the matter.

it’s not about using time efficiently, it’s not a job to catch fish. the hunt and challenge of fishing is the most rewarding part about it. figuring it out and cracking the code is what makes fishing special, and it seems to me, that ffs takes a lot of that experience away
@beardedfishingchats3 ай бұрын
Peter- thanks for the comment. I have mentioned in my next video that will be up tomorrow that I wish technology would have never invaded fishing. However, reality is that technology has invaded fishing and in many cases its a useful tool. For example, lakes that have massive fishing pressure, I would bet that most of the guys are using some sort of technology up to and including forward facing sonar. In those cases, if you aren't doing the same, you are at a disadvantage. I wish we could go back to the days of no technology that will never happen, so my belief is that you can use technology to your benefit, possibly catch more fish, and ultimately enjoy the sport more

So I'm an older guy and I get what you are saying, and agree with alot ot it. This is what I wonder. I watched a you-tuber a couple weeks ago they were fishing crapie said every day they are catching limits (25 each, 2 guys). They according to them are doing this 5 to 6 days aweek. So the question is how long do you think these lake can handle this. I know this is just 2 guys but is it just 2? He also said he was no limiting out before LS. I think this goes back to so of the things that Randy and Hank said. I would be interested in what you think?
@beardedfishingchats3 ай бұрын
Very fair point man. I am doing another video soon about what I agree with when it comes to those two. I think there are downfalls to technology including what you are talking about. I simply advocate for moderate use of technology. I think you made a good point though. I will have another video about this up soon. Make sure you subscribe if you enjoy the content. I think you misunderstood what their stance is on FFS. Randy's stance is no FFS in a PRO tournament and I believe Hank had the same view. Neither seem to care if the weekend fisherman used it and it is a great tool to learn about where the bass are no doubt. A pro tournament is supposed to be about knowledge of bass and where they are based upon the time you are fishing. I would venture to say that most of these young anglers could not find fish with FFS unless it is a spawning bite. I think it is ok to practice with it pre-tournament and set your points on your 2D graphs but when the tournament begins it should not be allowed. If you are a good pro run your marks and catch your fish without FFS.
@beardedfishingchats3 ай бұрын
Scott I respect both Randy and Hank and I would think in tournament situations no one should have an unfair advantage. I do also believe though that technology can open up doors for many anglers. As long as it's done in the correct manner, most times I don't see it as a bad thing. Randy and Hank to me just give off the perception that they are against technology a lot but yet technology aka youtube has brought more people to fishing than ever. Just my two cents. No disrespect to Randy or Hank. Thanks for the comment Scott
@RumRunner1513 ай бұрын
@@beardedfishingchats I agree with Scott. I think your video misses the point. I also think your reply to Scott misses the point. Randy is not saying people can't use technology to fish, he is saying that in PRO Tournaments, FFS takes away some of the skill of finding and catching fish. It's not about the rest of the anglers. It's not about an even playing field or unfair advantage, its simply the point that in a PRO sport that is all about skill, FFS takes away some of the needed skill of finding and catching fish, so it is bad for the PRO sport.

So you really think young anglers are just driving out in the middle like throwing their scope down in the water finding a random fish and catching it? Young anglers have used scope for their entire fishing careers. This has accelerated their growth as an angler and has allowed them to learn more about fish and fish behavior. These younger guys, especially have figured out a way to break down a large area of water by using mapping technology to find areas where bass are most concentrated, they are able to utilize real time imaging to determine the mood of the fish and are able to switch gears and switch lures, depending on that behavior on that particular day. This is a whole system of understanding, bass and bass behavior. It is definitely not point and catch tool.
