Hello John. Nice tutorial. Can you please explain how you got the image imported on the colour page as there is no way to import an image and how did you set up the short cut command for importing the image as the short cut Control plus P didnt do anything on my resolve studio on ipad. Though i can open keyboards short cut through an external keyboard, but would you kindly explain which commands did you alter to bring in images into colour page

This was great , but when I do it and then try to move or zoom the object, the black outside the frame then covers the base footage. Any ideas please.

Thank you! Not sure I completely understand your question. The key should be done first and the image you are using as a replacement should be on the bottom of the timeline stack as it is being revealed through the key. Also, make sure you don’t forget the alpha output. Hope this helps!

@@jslemp Thanks…. Yep it does help.. My problem is the reverse. I am trying to put a green screened object on top of a base clip. Say a flaming letter onto a scene. I remove the green like you show. Then I want to reduce the size of the flaming letter, but as I reduce the size of the flaming letter, it’s border zooms as well and the black outside the letters frame covers the clip underneath. I can’t work how to reduce the object like I do it in Fusion.Thanks again for your help.

@GraveRat Gotcha. Unfortunately, I don’t know of a way to do that without fusion. Hopefully more capabilities will be added in future updates allowing for more advanced control.

If you could get a larger resolution of the object, you could possibly scale it down without the border showing. That would depend on your timeline resolution, too. Could be a workaround though

The only way I have figured out how to do it on the iPad version is to keyframe the text to make it move with the “tracked” part of the clip or you could follow my video and have the text you’re going to use as an image instead of editable text i.e. a screenshot of the text. Hope that answers your question!

Have you ever experienced a crash during the editing process on the DaVinci Resolve iPad? which ipad are you using?

I use a 2018 iPad Pro and an m1 iPad Pro. The 2018 model does crash occasionally, but it helps if you have background apps closed and free storage. Also, using the shortcuts to open other tabs like fusion or edit page will make it crash a lot.

Even with top of the line computers, there is no guarantee that a crash won’t happen, but I have had good success with my m1 iPad.

My m1 iPad has 16gb of ram. It’s the 2tb version, but the 1tb version also has 16gb ram.

Hey! Using a color space transform isn’t required at all for working with a green screen. I used this as a quick way to get the log footage from my camera in a better color space. You can grade your footage in various different ways, but color grading isn’t required at all for the green screen aspects of the video. Good luck!
