Samsung Fold is the best form factor for such device. Complaining so that it be same form factor as a regular smarphone while closed just does not make sense. Why buy fold phone for yourself in the first place. Just buy a regular insted and use it as it is.

The biggest limitation of the Honor Magic Pen is that it does not have a cover with a specific housing. Carrying a pen separate from the smartphone is very inconvenient.

@taolaomialao83 Yeah, it runs full windows, so anything your laptop can do, this can do. Obviously, the screen will be a lot smaller than most laptops, so you gotta work around that.

My thoughts are that it looks amazing in terms of engineering and technological advancement. Its wild that its the same thickness as the fold 6 when both are closed. Hardware aside, though, I really want to know what the software is like. All the videos I've seen so far just gush over the hardware and barely talk about the experience when using the phone. Can it do triple splitscreen? Does it have any unique modes that make use of the hinges? Stuff like that.

@CliffR The fold 6 is slightly better in every way. Lighter, longer battery life, brighter screens, better durability (hopefully) because of the new inner display and hinge, 7 years of software support, slightly bigger cover screen with the same form factor, nicer looking (subjective). The fold 5 is a really good deal right now, though, because of how good it is and how identical the fold 6 is to it.

8:57 I'm surprised you didn't talk about the video assistant feature in the samsung internet app. It's lets you watch any time of video/movie in full screen without cropping so you make the most out of your big display. All you have to do is enable video assistant and when ever you watch any type of video on the samsung internet app, two blue circles will pop up on the bottom right corner of the video your watching, click the one with the play icon and it will open samsungs video player, then click the stretch icon on the bottom left corner. You will have full screen videos without having to crop and lose content. Works with KZbin, Amazon prime video, Netflix, hulu, HBO Max/Max, tubi and any other website or streaming service that streams any type of video.... No more cropping and losing part of your video/movies and no more black bars on your videos and movies ether. Good video!👍🏼

You should try the Good Lock - MultiStar function for "multi-window screen zoom". Toggle it on for split screen and pop up windows. This gives much better app content scaling in split screen and pop up windows. It's game-changing. 4:30 I'd suggest sending feedback to LumaFusion. They release specific optimizations just for DeX. 12:40 that glitch has been around for literal years. KZbin is just a garbage app in general.

Samsung, specifically the Z Fold, got such a bad rep this year in the tech community, but its been super annoying see them praise other companies for the same thing they knocked Samsung for. While i love that competition can increase innovation, i hate biased reviews samsung's software has been superb and they have really made their ecosystem so fluid.

It's just so strange how popular it is to hate on Samsung, like they can never do any right in the eyes of the tech "community." And yet, as you've said, other companies get praised for doing things that Samsung gets hated on for, or they get excused for things that were "unacceptable" if Samsung did it. It's also strange that we've come to place where different kinds of foldables are unacceptable (narrow outer screen vs regular phone size outer vs short pixel fold 1/oppo find n2 outer screen size), when slab phones have different sizes and everyone is fine with that. No one yells at people for liking smaller versions of flagships, yet people get pissed that different sized foldables exist and dont believe anyone could like the form factor they dislike lol. Preferences have become objective laws in the tech world. it's crazy.

@@JamaltLee I guess the issue is really that they haven't changed that much over 4 years even tho they can. I respect that choice tho. I would love to stick to samsung having used a fold 3 but I'm getting a used OPO for now and see where it tides me over till (OPO 2 or a larger z fold). I'm keeping my fold3 as a backup. have to vote with your money i do think slabs also pretty much all have the same aspect ratios now. the problem with samsung is that the aspect ratio is kinda off so compatibility is an issue.

I had the z fold 6 for a month and returned it due to the narrow screen. I am actually thinking to buy one again as there is a better deal now on samsung website. I am just missing it a lot especially with playing games and watching videos. I had a look at the new pixel pro fold but the design of it feels and looks wierd/cheap with the thick bezel. The z fold 6 feels and looks premium and has the power of snapdragon.

The advantages that you stated for Samsung are all atributed to Software, but there's nothing on the hardware front that makes the Z Fold 6 superior to any of its competitors. Samsung has indeed gotten lazy the past several years and the software advantages that it has, will not be (nor are going to be) enough to maintain it's lead. Samsung needs to get back to innovation and taking risks while maintaining its dominance on the software front. While I don't have a foldable phone (yet), Samsung hasn't given me a reason (for SIX RELEASES now) to make the jump to ANY of its foldable devices (which is sad because I have multiple Samsung devices (including my current S23 Ultra). I'm more willing to take a chance on the OnePlus (which I'm sure can be flashed with a custom ROM) or maybe import the Honor Magic V3 (the only thing holding me back is that most (if not all) Chinese OEMs are CRAPPY when it comes to long-term software updates). Samsung has ignored the pleas (for innovation and leadership) from the tech community for too long and it will soon find itself an afterthought in the mobile tech space.

love this in depth demonstration and analysis of fold vs flip. quick question, what is your take on native storage, expandable, and also battery life + speed of charge?

I think 512gb should be the minimum amount of storage if we're not going to ever get expandable storage back on the most popular phones. Samsung needs to step up with the charging speeds across all their devices. Even Apple has moved to 45W on all their phones. The bigger batteries would be amazing too on the foldable devices.

Cases for the z flip are out there and they're pretty decent. I personally wouldn't put it in my pocket while it's open.

I have the magic v3 and the pen works fine on the outer screen. But on the inner big screen, it seems less responsive and when i try drawing longer straight lines, it stops working and then i have to lift the pen and start again. It doesn't work continuously. Is this common?

@@JamaltLee its generally ok, more when you get to the edge of the screen on the notes app. If you try e.g making a long continuous zig zag shape, at some point the pen stops and then you have to lift it and start again. I am comparing it to ipad and apple pencil so in that regard apple pencil is miles ahead.

Generally, they're all decent now, but you experience slight sizing issues on Instagram and reddit when just scrolling through the homepages. The only bug I've experienced on a social media app is on facebook when going from the small screen to the big screen, and the app doesn't resize correctly. It doesn't happen often, but it's something that happens.
