There's a big hole in that brake booster hose... 1.11
@linckeil5 жыл бұрын
thanks for the interest in a 9 year old video!! at 1:11 that "big hole" you see is not in the brake booster, it is in the gauge itself. it accepts a light bulb to illuminate the gauge. it has absolutely nothing to do with how the gauge performs. and to address a 7 year old comment below that i did not see until now, no - the gauge does not need electrical power to work. you see the other good gauge in the video right? no power needed to either gauge - they are vacuum gauges. both hooked up in exactly the same manner - one works, one does not. end of story.

@@linckeil yes i know is a old video my point is that why the gauge is not working because it have a hole in that hose not the gauge the hose check it again...
@linckeil5 жыл бұрын
@@leroyestrada1616 i assume you are referring to the black mark on the hose about 2 inches from the gauge? right next to the number 9 stamped on the hose? that's a spec of paint - not a hole..... in fact that same hose is still on the vehicle today and operating the brake booster. if it was a hole, i would have no power brakes and a substantial vacuum leak causing all sorts of engine problems.... i think i still have the faulty vacuum gauge somewhere. If you like, I would be happy to dig it up and send it to your door for $20. you can run your own tests with own hose and see if you have any different results.

maybe you need to supply 12v and ground to the autometer first.....

The auto meter gauge needs power?????
@linckeil13 жыл бұрын
@CHS191 did you watch the video? did you listen to the commentary? both gauges are "T'ed" into the same source on the intake manifold - as you can clearly see in the video and as I clearly state in the commentary. I put this video together so that the guy who sold me the gauge could see it was not functioning. if you don't believe me when i say the gauge doesn't work, you are welcome to come check it out yourself.
@CHS19113 жыл бұрын
This test is totally invalid. You need to "T" the Autometer gauge into the same line as the other gauge to have a valid test.
