The most impressive landing I’ve ever seen or heard of was the British airways flight where the captain went out the cockpit window and they held him in by his foot; the co pilot landed the plane and never flew again. The captain somehow survived .

No excuse to ever land on the highway. Emergency should be declared in time to make an emergency landing in a field or on a runway. If you can't follow the simple rules you shouldn't be a pilot.
