My kind of day, thanks! Were those tire tracks I saw on the beach?
@soulwalkies2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, YES!! Vehicles are allowed on this stretch of beach and I hate it. With the roar of the ocean and the wind whistling in your ears, you can't usually hear a vehicle coming up behind you and, surprise, surprise, they sometimes go way too fast! Usually it's Tidda looking back that alerts me there's a vehicle coming. Is there no sacred space left on the planet where you don't have to always look over your shoulder and be prepared to flee from the almighty four-wheeled apex predator?? Sorry, that's a hot button for me. Rant over! Glad to see you and Mr B survived Debby!

Really cool! I am curious as to Tidda's typical reaction to people and dogs. Does she vocalize and move toward them like she did from inside the car or is her behavior different when she's not confined?
@soulwalkies3 ай бұрын
Thank you, John! It was fun to get out the suction cup mount for the GoPro and use it for something. I really don't let Tidda near people at all because she does growl at them and has a lot of anxiety and hypervigilance. I have to put a muzzle on her at the vet, although apparently when I'm not in the room, it's better. We can talk calmly (on leash) to people we meet outside at about 8 ft away and I've learned how much space is required. It does happen quite a bit that dogs run up to us and it's not a problem, as long as their owners aren't near. Tidda is submissive and not very interested in playing with them. So, she's not getting much socializing, unlike young Mr B! I just feel the risks are too great. Neither one of us is very good at it and we do have each other 24/7. She probably has the most outside social contact with Alistair, the cat!
@strepto773 ай бұрын
@@soulwalkies Actually, B.’s trigger point is about 8 feet too. He can be uncontrollable in his desire to play with people or other dogs. He doesn’t bite and is not afraid, just wants to play!

Thank you, John! Once I had the idea, I discovered that filming wind is actually quite a challenge, lol! Similar to filming fog. A lot of trial and error trying to make the wind visible.

Thank you for your calming vid. I once had a gazillion year old slab of petrified Cali Redwood, crystalline; as a gem-cutter, I was ever tempted to cut and polish pieces of it. It was gifted me by my tutor and it was passed to the next enthusiast, accordingly. All the best from Australia.

I know a bit about trees and logs. Most of what you show us is very old. Not many were cut by chainsaws and even those were weathered. I agree with your conclusion. Thanks for the walk!
