The food court in Harrah's is callled Fulton Street. Pin Up Pizza charged $16.99 for the beer, $12.99 for the pizza, plus tax. The gift shop/convenience store in the LINQ charges $11 for 24 ounce Fosters Lager cans, and there are CVS and Walgreens nearby that charge normal grocery store prices, around $5 for 24 ounce beers. Walgreens is about half a block or so north of Harrah's and CVS has two nearby stores, one is connected to Treasure Island across the street from the LINQ, and the other is near Flaningo Rd across from the Flamingo, near Horseshoe (formerly Ballys). The mini refrigerator in the LINQ King Suite worked very well, was very cold although you can't adjust the temperature.

Only about a 15 minute walk from terminal 1 to Paradise road and then you are out of the airport property. Another half hour via Tropicana you will reach MGM grand. Sometimes waiting for taxi can take 20-30 minutes. Also good for a little exercise after a long flight.

They had very cheap food. Strawberry shortcake for very little money. This was when tourists ruled Vegas, but now Vegas is set up for people on per-diem in town for the conventions and spending company money. Out with the cheap, in with the expensive.

I remember going there in the early 90s when it was a small casino and getting their 29¢ Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner! Was always very good and came with an alcoholic beverage. Back when Vegas was gritty and had value.

Agreed. Aladdin added a uniqueness and the Desert Passage Shops was impeccably-designed. The Moroccan decor was on point. Luckily some of it still remains, but the resort is slowly building over parts of it.

After I left here, I saw another very small weed shop on the Las Vegas Blvd sidewalk on the other side of Harmon, not even a block away. What's weird is that you can see the name of this place "Rey Las Vegas" but Google search doesn't find it, and Weedmaps doesn't show any weed stores on Las Vegas Blvd between Sahara and Tropicana. But they are there. I didn't look for pricing but also didn't notice any prices displayed. $10 a gram is standard for most legal weed in the USA, but on the Las Vegas Strip I'd expect to see it at $20 to $40 for a gram. The per gram price normally decreases as you buy larger quantities ($10/gram, $30/eighth, $50/quarter, $80/half ounce, $120/ounce, would be typical for Oregon weed stores). Check Leafly and Weedmaps for more places to buy smoke.

If you have to wear a safety vest and flashers to walk a particular route than that tells me you shouldn't walk it. A reflective vest or flashing lights is not going to physically protect you from getting hit by some Vegas douchebag driver.

I like the independence of walking, no reliance on a third party. It only takes 45 minutes to walk to the strip. If it took 2 or 3 hours I wouldn't consider it.

Cocktail waitresses just carry drinks from the bar to the customers who are gambling. You don't have to make any drinks, the bartenders make them. You write down customer orders then read them to the bartender. All you might have to learn is which drinks get a lemon wedge or lime wedge... I've seen them add garnishments like that after the bartender gives them the drink.
