This was one of my favorite trailers from the TMP especially the paramount logo when I first saw it in theaters; I appreciate the your edit to it, which adds to & enhances the drama to the excitement with the additional takes for each of the cast members intros. Well Done. Perhaps including some of the Directer's cut (mainly the DVD 2001 version with some of the 2022)

Essa trilha de TOTO É INESQUECÍVEL. Melhorou 50% esse remake esquecível, genérico e woke de dune do Villeneuve. Mas, ainda o considero superestimado, esquecível e irrelevante culturalmente.

I just re-watched this version when it aired on Cartoon Network a few days ago. Hell of a nostalgia trip, but growing up with the early VHS release, this was my first time hearing the new ending (though I do recall hearing about it through Nostalgia Critic's review). Can't say I'm fond of it. The original arguably didn't age the best due to any potential plans for a second film (or at least one in Ralph Bakshi's style) falling flat, but even as a kid, I always figured the implication was to go read the books for the rest of it (incidentally, this was back when the internet was still fairly niche and I was completely unaware that there was a Return of the King film until several years later, though I was familiar with Rankin/Bass's Hobbit). Nowadays especially, I'm pretty used to this after seeing several manga with unfinished anime adaptations. It really doesn't help that this long-winded narration talks over much of the music, which was allowed to flow gracefully throughout almost the entirety of this scene originally. Not to mention, the narrator attempting to imply that the ending just occurs off-screen makes the ending seem even more conclusive, and therefor more dull (even with the presence of original books, the animated Return of the King, and the Peter Jackson films). People can say what they will about the cop-out ending, but you can't tell me they didn't at least try to leave it off at a pretty epic moment (and would've obviously paid off had we just gotten that second film).

Anywhere I could find a detailed list of changes? Would you be willing to make one? You're the only one who I can find that's done this comparison work, thank you for putting it out there!

I wish I could be there back in the day when this first aired, to see the tears of confused dismay streaming down the faces of Star Wars fans everywhere, so that I could gently put my hand up on their shoulders and tell them "It's all downhill from here."

out of the comparisons, i do funnily enough prefer the 2001 dvd release with the voice over, ' the forces of darkness were driven forever from the face of middle earth by the gallant friends of frodo ', adds a nice touch to the film for me.

I'm a big fan of Hans Zimmer (and I think Pt2 was a massive improvement score-wise) but Toto's score is a much better fit for Pt1.
