I’m building a new pc for a recording studio this was really helpful but would you suggest getting a graphics card at all? Or just getting a cpu with integrated graphics (we might do a little bit of video editing)

Glad it was useful! If you're doing a light video editing you should be fine with the igpu, I am using a low power I5 (1ghz, 4 cores) to edit my videos, I am not using graphic elements or effects and it's a bit slow but it still works :) I'd suggest a graphic card if you're working with big files with a lot of FXs or for heavy codecs! Hope this helps, let me know if you need any clarifications :)

That's a beast of a cpu, if you pair it with a lot of RAM and a good GPU you will be safe and sound for a lot of different kind of projects!

I'd suggest you to always use and external audio interface (even a cheap one)! Also Asus sadly has a high rate of returns, hope your system will work smoothly!

Sure man! There could be different issues so make sure to check them all: Bad cables/connectors, Old drivers for the interface or buggy driver issues with your operating system, high sample rate/buffer, or electrical interferences (if there are a lot of electronics or cables around), also check that your cpu isn't 100% utilized using the task manager! Hope this helps, please let me know! I don't know your interface or pc specs but this could be a good starting point

People are saying it's more CPU than gpu, and intel gpu is still able to do it. Don't know why Nvidia of all companies would do it on the gaming card than their business models that cost way more.

actually even midi it's also need low latency if play => editting. because some vst have really high latency need to adjust low buffer size

@@clothes4060 I was checking it, it seems that it uses a DSP engine: the Real-time Gradient Blending (RGB) engine - so I guess that it needs a modern processor to tackle it fully, and probably a fast ssd and ram, may I ask you what are the specs of your pc? Thank you again!! #reapergang

@@weeddiz5732 I use gen 4 intel (really old just enough to use ivory 2), buy a laptop i5 gen 12 (2 years agos) to use the ivory 3 but looks like sc*m by e core not working as it's should be. the ivory 3 I use mostly need 416-512 buffer size with the laptop (but still a bit of latency although I adjust the midi really close to the grid). So I think maybe I need a mid-high or high end CPU to use the 64-128 buffer size of that vst. (or maybe other plugin). so maybe I will save money to get AMD (intel still in stability issue with degrade CPU) instead of intel (I suppose to choose the 9900x but the 2 ccds(8core+4 core) really wonder me. So I want to make sure it work all the core it need to , not like just run 4 core like the laptop and 4 core 9900x suppose if it pick random ccds - I suppose if it divide the CCD

Moral of the story...drop at least $1000 on your cpu...rubbish. I have built tons of machines for cheaper that are still kicking ass. You will be just fine with a gen 5 cpu. They are cheaper and will definitely get the job done.

One of the best CPU that I will suggest for newer build is the Ryzen 7900, and that should not cost more than 320 euros, latest gen still works wonderfully, a 5700x is more or less 200 euros new, sooo nope

Just get a 9 7900 amd chip and a good mobo 32 gb ddr memory and you are good. Not fastest chip but runs cool, reliable and quiet. fast enough for many tracks mixing.

Right now ryzen 7 and 9 seems to be the better buy, I would go with intel only for video production codecs support on lower tiers cpus (like 12400/12500)

@@weeddiz5732 Thanks but not sure a 12th gen 12400 at only 2.5 GHz is as good as a AMD 7900 non-x (3.7Ghz up to 5.0+). What makes Intel better? I do some video editing but not often. Mostly music editing with plug-ins just at home for fun and always less than 20 tracks. What MOBO do you like? Many seem to have issues.

@@MOAB-UT The difference is for accelerated video codecs, specifically the 422 10 bit nightmarish one, at the moment intel is the only one that can accelerate those codecs with just the iGPU, also there is a little bit of issue with latency if you go with more than 8 cores with 7/8/9000 series so the best sweet spot right now could be a simple 7600 with a lot of ram (if you are just doing audio)

@@MOAB-UT But yeah, my ideal choice would actually be the 7900 non X for 90% of my work, maybe a good ryzen cpu and a small intel gpu for accelerated codecs is all that a video/audio editor would need! Waiting to see what battlemage will bring to the table, but I'm not too sure about intel's future at the moment

I would say 5600g. You don’t have to buy a graphic card if you use this one, which also means that even a cheapest 300w power supply would be good enough for your whole PC.

@@oldskoolfunkandsoul1 I am saving his money, man. To upgrade the CPU from the 3000 series (or any other older Ryzen CPUs) to a 5600g, you only need to upgrade the CPU. Otherwise, he will need a new motherboard with an AM5 slot.

@@lucien9183 Agree with you! There is a difference in performance comparing the newest chips, but not enough to justify the price! I was tinkering with pcpartpicker and with all the other same specs (32 gb ram ddr4 vs ddr5, same ssd, case, coolers and psu) the price difference was around 350 euros! Not worth it at the moment

@@weeddiz5732 Even at this point the 14900k is just an overclocked 13900k which honestly in terms of price to performance makes no sense. The 13900k is cheaper and easier to cool. Probably he would have been fine with a 13700k, but.....
