Auntie Gladys, I have one question about trimming the cakes, if you trim an 8inches cake, doesn't it get smaller so what cake board is suitable for it, I mean the smaller cake board you put underneath before frosting.

@zedkuchalo Hey, thanks for the insight. I would have been pleased to hear from the original commenter as I was a little curious about their intentions..That said I always proceed with the good so perhaps they may just have made a comment with their best thoughts in mind.. |● Firstly, though, while the browning may be a sign of over baking, it is not a definite ●| Recipe technique, ingredients, oven temperature, and heat circulation are a few influences to the outcome of a cake, which may be perfectly okay even if brown looking. Eg.. An old oven without a convection system using granulated sugar in a creaming method ( no addition of extra liquid) except egg with a longer cooking time will yield a browner cake crust but maybe okay except a little deep on the brown side but not over baked. The same recipe details with milk will yield similar browning but moist and better than the above.. Same recipe in a convection oven less cook time still brown not too brown could be considered okay too, and the tight crumb you see suggesting a dry cake isn't at all.. the cake was left to set in the fridge before, hence the appearance.. I have baked for 10 years with a keen interest in the science of baking, developing recipes, and teaching the subject widely.. I also enjoy suggestions on the Internet, keeping an open mind to learning and interacting with audience members who follow support and engage with me . If I have one thing to recommend, I'd suggest that whenever one feels the need to make an opinion on what is being observed ( keep in mind, though video is real, they may still be influences of change) try and frame it as a question to tease out the intention. You will be surprised by the nuance of the subject matter and the new things you could find.. Thanks, though, for the suggestion!

@@Gladyscakekitchen I agree. Life is about learning and growth and there is always room for improvement - no matter how long one has studied the subject matter. I can't speak for OP but I simply pointed out what I saw. Cakes are extremely finicky and personally I'd never put a cake in the fridge till a customer picks it up because fridge burn is real. Happy baking. If your clients are happy then don't mind us internet observers.

I store them refrigerated but the fridge is regulated to just keep the cake at a cool temperature with out freezing or chilling too much.m perhaps the reason is also because the fridge is completely dedicated to cakes so I cam adapt the temps without issues where as it wont be the same for home fridges if other items are stored in it x

These are handy for when you need to produce a dessert for something. Make a deconstructed dessert with them (similar to eton mess). Use fruit (fresh or tinned) and whipped cream as a base and you can add other things from there or not. Is real good and real quick. You could always use to make trifle too.

Yes cake pops/balls is an option, I've also seen bread and butter puddings made with them and cookies too, maybe even baking them to make cake rusks... but honestly I would just eat it all with a nice cup of tea 😄

@dollysdzyns4949 so the bread and butter pudding simply takes the form of layering bread slices with butter spread over in an oven dish over which some egg custard( a mixture of egg milk.and spices) is poured over and baked..In this case the bread slices is simply replaced with cake ..The pudding is also served with custard

Way too much speed for a dough, they recommend max lvl 1 speed for stiff doughs, there's a user manual explaining the recommended usage for every task in the kenwood web max weight, recommended times and some tips
