I was working with kids at a camp and heard the whole Walt signature thing from a leader while we were walking with a group of kids. Not to mention my Facebook news feed was full of crap like that. I felt uncomfortable at both those places because I like Disney animation and Disney World.

Nobody says any of that.

Not the public's fault, per se, but the fear-mongering click-bait news articles where riders are "stranded" for "hours" when the ride did exactly what it was designed to do in an emergency situation. To be swiftly followed by the riders' question you'd hear at least 5 times an hour, "Am I gonna die on the ride?" When Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.

Definitely agree Pinocchio and Snow White need to be updated. You look at how they updated Alice in Wonderland and how good it is now so you know it is possible. Also agree that Autopia needs to go (my most hated ride at Disneyland)

We usually spend most of our time at Disney becase my wife can't really handle thrill ride so my wife can enjoy more of the rides and shows there.

While there are valid complaints about Disney (such as not willing to take risks on new stuff and over reliance on nostalgia to business practices that one would be a fool to assume Disney's competition is innocent of), people who hate on Disney never use these valid complaints. Probably because they are not exciting and won't drive clicks. And thats the thing these things drive clicks online. Also, I think many people find it hard to fathom that someone from Walt's generation didn't have some kind of prejudice. While I'm not sure if Walt was prejudicial, I am positive that he worked to not show any prejudice because it would go against his own family friendly image.

I took one of my friends for 1st time to Disneyland and her inner child shown on the attractions. We were in line with our other friend to see Rapunzel and a teenager walk by and ripped us adults for wanting to meet Rapunzel and Flynn. I rolled my eyes and said under my breath, "grow down girly."

I will admit that we do Disney all the time simply because we know it and it's easy for us now. We're not against other places, we just know what to expect and how to do Disney. These days I tend to avoid Universal because I didn't enjoy the last few times I went, not because I'm not interested in what they have. Universal frustrates me because in some areas they show they can do theming and immersion at least as well as Disney, but then there are so many places where they just don't put in the effort.

Friendly reminder only Jews get to determine what is and isn't antisemitic. Having Jewish friends has absolutely no bearing on whether or not one is antisemitic; there are even plenty of AsAJewish antisemites out there who were born Jewish.

I'm convinced that people who make up awful rumors are just jealous of the people who are actually happy and can find joy in things. Just let people live. If it isn't for you, move along. Find something that brings you joy and maybe you'll start to see the world differently. Miserable, sad people.

My brother-in-law tried telling me Disney was only for kids and I had the same reaction, "I feel bad for you. You have no sense of imagination or magic. I would be miserable if I had to live in a world without that." He doubled down and the conversation went nowhere but I still think I made my point and his defensiveness made me think he secretly agreed with me.

The absolute worst in my book is when people, directly or indirectly, say that Disney CMs are ped0philes and gr00mers. That drives me insane. If I had the ability to slap these absent-minded people through the internet, I would.

lol, Disneyland is for kids! I'm 36 and there was at least one time I was the youngest in line for Luigi's! I think that comes from Disney marketing hard to people with kids and making it this rite of passage thing they must do. There are many parents where their kids are an accessory to THEIR Disney experience, expecting them to like the same things as them, behave perfect, take the perfect pictures, etc. So its still a thing thats really all about the parents. Disney with just adults is the best, no pressure to do everything or make it perfect.

Sadly, there will always be ignorance...

Some other theme parks might offer experiences you might not get at Disney, so if you limit yourself to Disney you might be missing out.

Don't wear a mask that covers your face. It's for your safety. Parks need to know who is the guest and who is the employee that is supposed to be in costume especially during Halloween events. When I worked at Six Flags Great Adventure I had a family get escorted out because they decided to yell at me in Russian because I wouldn't let the boy wear a mask. They didn't realize I was working with two Russian guards (who refused to tell me what was said because they respected me).

Here in Northern Utah, we have a theme park called Lagoon. It has three different kinds of rollercoasters, plus a bunch of different kinds of rides. It's been a while since I've been there, so can't tell you how the food is now, and they don't sell alcohol of any type. We used to love going there when we were growing up.

Just as an FYI, there is no Disney "jail." Disney Security does not have arrest powers and cannot detain anyone. Orange County SO DOES have a substation on property and it has a holding cell in it, but Disney does not have anything to do with it.

You do have some really bad takes. Most are bad. What really needs to happen is to make star wars land a true star wars land not one nased on the disney movies which really aren't star wars. Ride of the resistance would still be a huge bore though.
