A mechanic that I know that has been around a long time swears by automatic transmission fluid in the Seastar pumps. He claims that the Seastar brand hydraulic oil will make the pump valves stick. He claims he’s fixed a few of them and he put an automatic transmission fluid in them and never has an issue with them again.🤷‍♂️

Wow? so I’ve always hated bait casters, but that was because it was my fault. I just realized.🤪😁 When I cast, I would hold my thumb on the line, but the minute I went forward, I let my thumb go, which, of course would create a hugebirds nest! and you say when it hits the water that’s when you put full pressure on your thumb so here’s my question if you apply full pressure on your thumb when it hits the water, what allows your lure or bait to sink?

My real of preference is a spin cast. Mostly because I can do it so quickly. I do have a spinning reel which I was holding incorrectly. I guess with a line up against the poll before release however, I don’t see that you can do it very fast you have to turn the bell hold the line, etc. etc., like for Topwater fishing for instance. But I do appreciate the video.

I agree with the last comment: Josh does a GREAT job on his videos but this production shouldn’t have been executed until the vessel was cleaned and detailed. Additionally, the cameraman spends 85% of the time on Josh and Chris’s faces instead of the item or object they’re speaking about. I had to keep stopping the video , going back, replaying to the point that I can see the image (helm, dash, MFD’s, etc) and then pause so I could view it before the camera swept away to they’re faces again. Great boat though.

Everything in baitcasting stuff is clear - i might try it one day. One question that bothers me... why not use reel with crank on the left side if we are right handed? We should reel fish with rod not reel so i think leading hand should take care of hard part and left hand can turn the crank because it is easier. And most of the time i see that right handed people are using baitcasting reels with lever on the right side.

"the best time to go fishing is when you can". True, I go fishing not always for the 'fishing' part, sometimes just for the 'go' part.
