I'm watching this in 2022, a month before the 7th anniversary of the Valley Fire. We've taken many good actions since then, but this video still feels very pertinent in terms of the science and the important lessons. Thanks to Chief Green and everyone who helped fight this disaster.

@@ssfrederick6061 yes i know, but i'm more focusing on the 'heat' especially in the summer when most fires happen where no lightening is involved, so my question is it possible for heat of the sun to ignite grass naturally? if so how is it doing it?

@@yassinyassin4006 There are no cases that I've heard of in over 26 years of Wildland Firefighting experience where sunlight caused a wildfire without the use of a magnifier such as a soda bottle or a magnifying glass.

Thank-you for the excellent presentation. My only comment (and maybe you have link ) for information on making the routes/roads in and out of a street safe? It is critical that the Fire people can safely get in and that the homeowners can safely get out if needed. In our rural area of Mariposa California it is not uncommon for a home to be easily defendable and the roads in and out are dangerous. We are lucky to not have the Diablo winds. Thanks again!
