Fun video, but for practical use there are certain tried-and-true time-tested tools for animating on paper: Lightbox , peg bar, punched paper (the punched holes along the edge of the paper match the pegs for precise registration of the drawings). Then use a scanner to scan the drawings and compile them into a timeline in any number of animation apps that are available. Tahoma2D (a variation of OpenToonz) is a full-featured animation program , but it is absolutely Free. (open source)
