And then after it's on, zip ties cut and drum turned by hand the damn belt walks right off the outside of the drive motor pulley. WTF
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries Ай бұрын
If the belt walks off when turning the motor on, there is an alignment issue between the motor and the drum pulley. Any misalignment between the two will cause the belt to walk. You can use a straight edge like a yard stick across the pulley faces and there shouldn't be a gap between the face of the pulleys and the straight edge. Your misalignment can be from a loose motor or bad bearings / rollers on the drum.

My husband has F550 2008 6.4, and they stole the catalick converter. By any chance, do you know what sensors they use???

The sensors on my 2012 F350 with the 6.7l had a part number of AC3Z5J213C. Not sure if it will be the same for the 6.4l but may be. You'll have to check with a Ford truck dealership

I inherited one of these recently. Box had been opened but I don't think dad had ever used it. I was looking for a good instructional video and yours was the newest so I clicked. Info started out interesting, but then I became nauseous and puked. Had a minor seizure. Not sure if you were under a light with a ceiling fan or if it was camera settings and light syncing issues. I have heard of this on occasion but had never experienced it. Can't finish watching. Info is very difficult to follow without being able to see what it relates to. Maybe you didn't notice it. I went back and checked all settings on my monitor and and all is still perfect.

Any advice for ripped seams with holes on a polypropylene (Merlin Dura Mesh liner)?
@kudasindustries

I haven't worked on those, but I imagine that the steps would be the same for a ripped seam, but use polypropylene patches and polypropylene cement.

I purchased all the products...vinyl, cement, cement roller, pan. can you share what needle and thread you used to sew the stitching?
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries 4 ай бұрын
I used a sail needle. These are typically 0.092" in diameter and 3-4" long. For the thread, I would use a UV resistant or thread meant for outdoor use such as McMaster product 87635K62 (thread trade size 350)

Will this be strong enough to hold the weight of snow
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries 5 ай бұрын
For small tears up to a foot long, the patches alone should be good enough. For longer tears, I stitched the sides of the tear together with heavy duty thread and then glued patches of vinyl on the top and bottom. It lasted through several winters with over a foot of snow on it without re-tearing.

Curiosity, why wouldn’t you just replace the motor and not the whole pump?
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries 8 ай бұрын
The challenge is finding a 1.5hp replacement motor. With the new regulations, all pool pump motors over 1hp have to be variable speed and finding an original equipment 1.5hp fixed speed motor is hard to come by. My local pool store only stocks replacement pump assemblies. If you were to replace just the motor, you will probably want to replace the mechanical seal as well since you have to take it apart to get the motor out.

Not necessarily. It could be that the pulley is slipping on the motor shaft. The other option is to spin the drum by hand from the front instead of using a wrench on the pulley.

An absolutely excellent idea using zip ties. I would suggest the proper placement so that when you turn it, theyblock on the spider part of the wheel. . and one be that it is extremely easy to open up the front and turn the entire washer by an opposed to using a wrench. thanks again you saved me at least a 1/2 hour trying. A friend of my daughters inadvertently stepped on my old vinyl inground pool cover. It caused a rectangular tear about 3 ft long on each side. It is basically a flap now. Any suggestions on how I should go about fixing this and avoiding a $4000.00 expense for a new pool cover?
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries Жыл бұрын
That's a tough one. I had a big tear where I sewed the seam back together with heavy duty thread then glued a patch of new vinyl over the stitching. I suspect that you'll have to do the same, sew the rip back together and then put a patch over the whole area.

This video has been so helpful thank you! When connecting the wires, does it matter which goes where for the hot wires? Also what would you recommend if the old pump didn’t have a bond wire? 😬
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries Жыл бұрын
If it's wired for 220V then it doesn't matter which hot goes on which screw. That only matters for 110V, in which the hot wire goes on the + or black terminal and the white goes on the - or white terminal. You can add a bond wire by driving a ground rod into the ground 3 feet and add a #6 wire from the rod to the motor. You can get ground rods from the hardware store or use a piece of rebar. make sure all of the ground connections are tight.

Dealer replaced my torsion rod because it was under warranty well now the tailgate springs up like 6 imches when its full open. Did they install the rod backwards or is there an adjustment on the rod?
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries Жыл бұрын
There's no adjustment on the rod. I feel like there's two potential causes of the tailgate lifting: 1) they installed the wrong rod. not likely but you never know. 2) the rod has been superceded to a new design or material which gives it more torsion. I bet Ford updated the part and gave it more power to account for heavier tailgates with the step in them.

@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries Жыл бұрын
You'll need to connect the truck to an ODBII scan-tool to see what error code is displayed. That will tell you which sensor it is. Some auto parts stores will scan the truck for you for free if your check engine light is on.

Nice! And you make this easy...I think my older Rome Industries AquaComfort S95 may be causing rusty water (getting worse as we have to dump pounds of ascorbic acid 1,2 times a week which is expensive). We actually do not use the pool heater at all and would like to get rid of it in any case. Do you think this is a "simple" DIY? While I am "medium" handy, somewhat nervous about plumbing and electrical stuff.
@kudasindustries
@kudasindustries Жыл бұрын
If you're medium handy this should be no issue for you. The gas and electric connections are straight forward, but the plumbing will take some diligence. Make sure to get the fittings lined up right before gluing them to ensure that the union connection faces will be flat against each other.
