I'm more of an aquazon person. There's something about the aqua raiders colour scheme that just doesn't appeal to me (I'll blame it on dark grey). But that overall looks like a great set, I like the pincer play feature, they could have just articulated them, but instead went the extra mile and added the sliding thing. That's rad! It'd be great to see your other stuff, I like Life on Mars a lot for example

Yeah nintendo moment. Cant even blame that on the 23 year inflation. Yeah, if we count with EUs aimed 2% a year,(idk how you have it in USA) you should get 46% less stuff for the money. But you get like 60% less at least. But lego knows they can treat nintendo fans the way that nintendo does. They kinda deserve it for letting it happen in the first place.

Comments: Error 1, the Stingrays are from 1998, not 99 as presented. Error 2, Commander Manta Ray comes in 4 sets... but I can see how this one happened, he's listed with flippers in 2 sets, and listed without flippers in 2 sets... and yet, the flippers come with him in the 2 sets he's listed without them. Must be an instruction sheet thing going on there. Error 3, trans clear yellow shown here is transparent neon green... Almost an error: the 2x4 hinge... I was going to say they still use it in Ninjago... but 2023 Ninjago, and Monkey Kid is last year with no new appearances so far... I hate to say it, you might be correct about the hinge... But I'd give it 3 years before declaring it gone for good. If you're specifically referring to the color of the hinge then yeah, sadly the black variant clutch plate and pin plate have both been gone since '99. I pulled your video up because I collected the Stingray sets when they were new and this is the 1 of 4 I don't have. Aside from my error report, I wasn't and still am not a fan of the large octagon cockpit. They never put controls in them, and... I guess Sea Sprint 9 didn't get controls either... eh... the large shape wasn't to my liking, the angle for the window is nice, but the fact it only ever came in black is annoying... that said the octagon wall window also only came in black, but... I do like that piece... it's a form factor issue. The part's too big and hard to integrate without looking a bit underdeveloped in MOC's... I think that piece is the reason I always put aside the idea of getting this one, that and I had 3 from Solo Sub, Crystal Detector and Sea Creeper, so I had some experience with the part and didn't wish to continue getting more of it. That and the Sea Creeper window with face is not in line with my aesthetic sense for Lego ideas, so... I didn't wish to have a 2nd. I also was not a fan of old dark grey, albeit, the color switch was really emotionally difficult for me at the time... I ended up buying some Clearance KB Toys Lego and started hopping on Ebay to grab what I could of old grey, but as time has continued on I've made my peace with the color change... and I've continued to not really like old dark grey. I do like the claw function a lot. In Highschool I would develop my own variant of this set in other colors just so I could have fun building the claw; it's so fun... I do have the Sea Claw 7 with claw from Aquanauts, and so I have my claw set, a coworker gave me that one with his childhood collection. Nice video, I wouldn't worry too much about the error report; I used to write a Lego blog and I took more time than I'd care to admit to be as accurate as possible... I think I spent 50 hours on one of the largest sets I blogged about gathering up the necessary information... probably a lot of it sitting there with my eyes glazed over pondering what I was doing with my life. I put the blog aside after I finished my primary goal of reviewing the 260 Idea Book Legoland Space sets. Since you look to be reviewing the sets I was getting in Highschool I might pop in and watch some more videos.😀

Extremely complete set with loads of references especially considering the size. Minifigs are a bit of a letdown but I had to buy this when it came out. They should do more sets like this that are enclosed from all sides. An underrated set for sure. Nice review mate👍

I'm guessing its all about sales. Episode 1 was start of the downfall of Star Wars, not as many fans of the newer movies. I think thats why Lego asked their customers to vote before they produced the gunship, to make sure people would buy it.

I absolutely love it! Got immediately drawn by the classic look. I had a Town Divers set, and used to look at them in the catalog, your MOC perfectly captures their look. I think my favourite part are the barnacles -- attention to detail, so great 👍

The 2001 bionicles and the toa nuva were so basic but genius when you think about it, sure bionicles like anika looked so much cooler but they didn't try as hard on making multiple colored mask molds and combining toa into different biomacanicle animals and giants

I love the mismatch colours. Makes the ship look "home-made" and built from scrap. The orange, red, and dark green reminds me of the Marvel "What If" Hulk-Buster that Lego make a couple years back

I love the classic grey and brown pieces! I was born in 2002, so while I am an adult fan of Lego by this point I don't remember sets having the old colors. I only ever saw them at older cousin's houses and in lots online.

Thats a super cool build, if you do ever remake it id say maybe make the nose a little shorter cause the whole fighter looks a tiny bit stubbier than a regular xwing. Super awesome to see nonetheless. Have a great day!!

I love lego SW, but Republic and Empire "big gray ship" aesthetic gets boring to look at; CIS and Rebel ships have a lot more interesting shapes and colors that, imo, would make for much more interesting sets. I'd love a UCS set in the style of the Razor Crest for a CIS vehicle: not too large, but incredibly detailed both inside AND out with a focus on both. Things like the Venator and AT-AT are just too big, imo, and in the case of the AT-AT the internal space clearly added on a prohibitive cost. I could easily imagine a lucrehulk about half the size of the venator, with removable panels around the arms for micro-scale internal details, from little C-9979's and MTT's, to the republic cruiser and Anakin's N-1, and a detailed figure-scale command center within the central sphere. Would make a fantastic $500-$650 set. Could be bigger to fit more in there, but then you start entering $800+ territory if there's an interior. And that's just UCS sets; there's huge potential for great playscale sets for all of these things, especially a providence from episode 3, or a C-9979 from episode 1. Geonosian Arena or droid factory would make an exceptionally good master builder set. Part of me thinks it's also due to disney licensing restrictions, where they only want licensed merchandise focusing on certain shows/eras/factions at certain times. This is why star wars videogames have also greatly slowed down since disney's take over. It's nothing new, because Star Trek has had the same issue with licensed material for a much longer time(example, you're SoL if you're an artist or craftsman and you want to get a license to sell DS9-related material, because they don't give those out anymore even if you pay.) Would not shock me if lego is in a similar predicament, where they're only "permitted" to focus on certain movie timelines for sets at any given time. I'm giving the benefit of a doubt because there's definitely a demand for stuff not seen, especially on the collector end which star wars lego is more and more marketed towards.

I had that book as a kid, it was crazy seeing all the intricate detail they put into it. And yeah, it's totally a goldmine for UCS sets Lego could have done.

I am not sure how to tell you this, but LEGO gives a f*** about Star Wars fans. All they are interested in, is new customers, so they will forever be producing sets from the original trilogy (now parts IV, V, VI), but rarely any other sets. Lucky for you, they have just now released a diorama from episode I, which will only set you back $80, no minifigs, though - 🤪! Lots of people here in Europe have given up on the LEGO billionaires for good as there are so many better alternatives!
