My question is the ball between the 2 screws suppose to turn when turning the nob too? or is it just the metal rod just turning ?

My sewing machine just had this problem happen now, and while the video is helpful, it would be great to see more of how to take the machine apart and put it back together again. I’m having trouble taking off the circuit board that your dad was working behind

Update, my machine is working! All in all thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I have the exact same machine and it was the same problem. I’m so happy I not only saved my machine, but at least $100 to repair it!

I just set up this machine out of the box, my first time using a sewing machine and first time buying from Brother, and I’m experiencing this error + a tight hand wheel so thank you. I’ll be contacting Brother just to see if anything can be done as I just bought this machine, but if they don’t help 1) that’s the end of buying more products from them and 2) I can try to fix it myself hopefully

Thank you for this video!!! I had the exact same problem but when I asked about it I got the answer that the thread was jamming at the top of the machine, which was not the case. Watching this repair gave me the confidence to try it myself and save $105 on a repair bill. Very, very much appreciated.

Thank you! Your dad’s video has helped me twice. Each time, the machine has started working again after cleaning and oiling. Just wanted to mention that the English version of the manual for this machine basically says don’t ever take it apart and oil it yourself. It’s almost like they want you to treat this as a disposable machine! I took mine to a repair shop when this first happened, and they basically laughed me out of the store, pointing out that what they would charge to look at it was half of the purchase price. It made me furious. So again, thank you for making and posting the video. 🙏🏼
@ji945522 жыл бұрын
It was very unfortunate that the repair shop thought the sewing machines under $200 were disposable. Do you still have Brother sewing machine? I'm a beginner and thinking of getting either this model or one of Babylock machines.
@carollee55222 жыл бұрын
@@ji94552 Yes! I still have it and it is still working fine…

We did it! We used your videos and actually fixed the problem! It was going to cost $95 and would have been 8 weeks for the sewing machine repair shop to even look at it, but we managed on our own. We had a bit of difficulty getting it detached from the computer board, but figured it out. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!

I hope you find help. Most machines these days want you to take it in and spend money. It needs oil to work properly. If you have the money to take it in and service then great. If not then finding ways to oil and save money before tossing would be great. Happy sewing.

Is there a way to permanently fix my CS6000i needle to centre position. I have tried all of the suggestion given, but once I turn off and on again it reverts to the left default position? is there a way to maybe open up and maybe slide the Needle Clamp/Bar to the centre position? I find this whole thing to be very frustrating. Thanks so much you and your Dad are doing a wonderful job.
@twilightslots34904 жыл бұрын
Janett Scott oh that is something that has been bothering me too. Going from 0 left to 1 center is a habit I’ve learned using my machine non stop the last month. I live 2 hours away from him so I’ll have to remember to ask him next time. Great question!!

@@twilightslots3490 Thanks, ill be greatfull for any info. that comes my way.
@lovesthesun772 жыл бұрын
That’s the default for stitch 00 (needle to left) and when you turn on your machine it reverts to 00. Change your stitch to 01 and your needle will be in the middle. Just look on the face of your machine where all the stitches are listed!

would wd40 or zoom spout oil work better? I always thought it was the lighter oil that was needed....I'm learning new things here, I also have a brother, but it's mechanical rather than computerized.
@fastfoodaddict48584 жыл бұрын
BK Lulu yes that lighter oil is best for sewing machines. Because this was basically a corroded bolt the wd40 worked. He sprayed some on a cotton swap and worked at it to clean it. It dies take time and patience but it sure beats buying a new machine or paying a mechanic to do it.
