Great video guys! I’m in the market for a low mileage LC 200 16+ but considering a higher mileage with good service records after watching your video. One quick question. Have you been able to get the air bag warning light to go off? I’ve read about that water intrusion can cause issue with wiring to air bags causing the airbag light to be come on. And it’s apparently it’s cost prohibitive to get fixed.
@mandaandham3 ай бұрын
Hmmm, never had that issue with either of our 200s, so I'm not sure how common that is! I would say definitely check ih8mud & join all the 200 series Facebook groups you can. Appreciate the comment though & thanks for being here!! Please let us know if you figure out a fix so we can share it with other 200 series drivers here, should they encounter that issue too. That's a tough one we just haven't had happen, sorry we are not much help!!

I think the million miles Tundra's were the 2UZ-FE(4.7L) motors. Do you have a build video? What lift and suspension did you go with? Do you think your mpg difference from '08 was the 8spd trans? I've heard there has been little if any fuel efficiency. Where are y'all st in mo?
@mandaandham3 ай бұрын
Most of our build specs are on instagram with photos of the rig. Ironman suspension/lift & will never use them again. They do not stand behind their warranty. Dobinsons or Icon or Kings are superior. Yes, as mentioned in the video, believe the transmission in the 2017 = better fuel economy, but there are several friends of ours in 2008-2015 cruisers & they also have experienced poor fuel economy, both lifted & not lifted. Lift any of them & fuel economy is immediately reduced.

Believe you only need to keep an eye on intake dusting with these (plastic starts to warp on the matting surface for the filter housing). That being said dont ever sell her, it is peak landcruiser this and is only going to gain value as the years roll on.

Great video guys and I have the same passion as you two are about the LX450. I bought my 97 LX450 in November of 2000 from a Lexus dealer in the bay area. It was a lease return and CPO with 21k on the ODO. I still have it today with over 280k on the ODO & serviced at Lexus dealer from day one. I have plans to repaint it and a complete engine overhaul soon. And I never ever ever plans to sell it!

WOW! You got the steal of the century & to still have it?? AMAZING!! Repaint & engine over haul will only improve your initial investment. :-) Hold on to it forever, these things are amazing time capsules. Nice couple with a great 80 series story. Over the years I have owned three 80 series and two 100 series. I still own a 96 LX450 I have had for almost twenty years in absolutely rust free mint condition. It is a southern vehicle with 87K original miles never off roaded and always garaged. I have kept a detailed service log book since I originally purchased the vehicle. Amazing vehicles built to last providing they are properly maintained. Again, nice story

@mandaandham6 ай бұрын
Thanks for being here & for the kind comment! ih8mud is a wonderful resource & has been helpful numerous times when we’ve wanted to buy land cruisers. Every cruiser is unique & most come with their own set of quirks & features! Getting a carfax & checking the radiator prior to purchase would be our best suggestions, as 200s “usually” need new radiators as they near the 100k mile mark. An OEM radiator would also be a bonus!
